Hi,

just wondering what is the most accurate pinball simulation game available for the pc?

thought it would go well next to mame in my setup but i'd like the most enjoyable but also the most accurate gameout there.

Could you also maybe throw some pinball games my way that deal with some of the most historically important pinball table in history?

many thanks.

tmc.

Visual Pinball/PinMAME

You can play any table that has pretty much ever existed. And the physics and gameplay are spot on, compared to their originals, because like real MAME, they use the actual ROM's from actual tables.

Not to mention, it's free. But don't forget to DL PinMAME, as well!!

Yeah, Visual Pinball is great. The only problem is that it's all homebrew, so the graphic quality of the tables depends on the person that designed them. Most are pretty good however and like diskoboy said, the physics are spot on.

T2 and Tommy are my favorites. There are so many other good tables to play though.

The Pro Pinball series are extremely accurate in terms of physics and visuals, even though they're not actually based on any real pinball tables. You can still find them in the GameFest 4-pack if you're lucky.

For plain old historical accuracy, you should go with the Microsoft Pinball Arcade, which is based off of real tables. (They're old-fashioned tables without any of the nice LED displays of modern times, though.)

And the most fun I've had with pinball is actually Balls of Steel, which throws any pretense of realism right out the window but still manages to be lots of fun. A close second is Metroid Prime Pinball - the DS is the ideal setup for this sort of thing.

Lastly, some people are pretty fond of Little Wing's offerings.

The Tower of Pin (http://www.pcpinball.com/) has lots more reviews.
