Question about the Wii Virtual Console

Both Streets of Rage 1 & 2 are both already on the VC, so I'm expecting 3 to eventually join them. Now, I've been wanting to legally playing Bare Knuckle 3 for years now, and I have yet to find a decently priced version of that Sega/Sonic Collection import.

The question is: if I get a new Wii and change the settings to "Japan" or whatever (I'm assuming this can be done), can I buy/download Bare Knuckle 3 when it comes out or is having an American console gonna stick me with Streets of Rage 3 instead?

If i can't, then I'm not going to bother with buying a Japanese Wii. I'll just bite the bullet on the over-expensive Sonic/Sega collection.

You'll need a Japanese Wii to be able to access the Japanese VC list. Having a US Wii only allows you access to the US games list; you can only select countries from North/South America with a US Wii (I should know, I own one, so I chose Brazil to be able to use my credit card to buy points heh).

Yeah, the Wii is region locked.
