But if you wear gloves, how would you be able to type with them on?

They're for gaming, silly. Not typing.

Not to sound stupid, but why would you even want gaming gloves?
I had a gaming glove once, it was called the Power Glove and we all know how that turned out.

STEEL makes gaming gloves. (just google 'steel gaming gloves')
The only problem is, they're all fingerless. I honestly don't know of any gaming gloves that aren't fingerless.
You'd think using a fingered glove would make the controller more prone to slippage.

Ok i will come clean to explain why.
I have some sort of dermatitis on my hands that won't seem to go away and i noticed a couple of years ago that after a couple of days of gaming my controller would be covered with dead skin.
Its even worse as i notice it after like 1 go now and its really pissing me off !having this on my hands never mind having to constantly clean my controllers.
If you looked at my hands you would not even notice i had anything wrong.
The only way i noticed it was when im in the shower or bath and my hands are soaking wet you can notice that a vey fine top layer of skin is there and you can clean it away but it will grow back again.
Or if i use controllers and my hands sweat the skin will come off on to the controller and if i don't clean the controller it will build up and looks like candle wax has been poured on it lol.
Im getting tablets from the doctors at the moment for it but i get the feeling im cursed for life with it.

Hmm, that's pretty tough. Have you tried latex gloves? Seems to me you should be in the market for general gloves, somebody probably makes a light glove that would be comfotable enough for gaming. Perhaps you could go to a clothing store and try some out?

Good idea i never thought of trying latex gloves out.\\^_^/
I did look in various shops were i live but there wasn't much about.
I think winter time should be the best time for me to look for gloves.
I just need to find gloves that are thin and dont slip around to much really.

Driving gloves may be a good idea. Should be thin enough that you can still feel your way around a controller.

I wouldn't recommend latex gloves, especially with your skin condition. I work in the health field and latex allergies are becoming very common, the gloves would most likely make your demititis worse. Even if they are fine to begin with latex allergies can develop over time (mine did). Look for some sort of synthetic glove. There are several brands that look and feel like latex, but aren't. I prefer nitrile gloves when I'm working, but you have to be careful of the brand you get. I've had some that were so thick you couldn't feel anything through them. The ones I use now are nice and thin, but not sure if I could game in them. See if there's a health supply store in your area that carries a variety of gloves. Wal-mart has some, but they aren't the best. I haven't tried the nitrile ones they have though.

I'd imagine Golfing Gloves could be useful, they're made of a relatively thin leather, and seem to breathe well.

I could understand gaming cloves if you were playing a hand-held outside in the middle of winter in moscow, antartica, or juneau. Other then that, im dumbfounded.

I'd avoid latex and nitrile gloves just cause they are so hot. For me anyway, my hands always sweat in them, and that's just for relaxed pipetting. If I were gaming I'm sure it would be worse. I like the golf or driving glove idea better. Something like in that link above might be best, though those particular ones say 'exceptionally warm', which I wouldn't think is what you want.
Didn't the power glove only come in a right-handed version?
And for the dumbasses that 'don't get it', read the whole thread, jeez.

My brother has a skin disease and is an avid gamer himself. Occasionally, I've seen him wear my mother's driving gloves, so you might like to try that. Although, he wears them to keep his blisters from hurting and/or oozing onto the controller. For those of you that are interested, he has Epidermolysis Bullosa Simplex.

Now that you mention it, yes. The face is very similar, but the blonde hair kept me from making the connection.

What are those neon gloves that were sold in the early 90's? I saw them in Gamepro or EGM or something. Came in SEGA and Turbo Grafx varieties.
Hot Pink and black...sexy and forever stylish!

Perhaps Jersey work gloves? Light, breathable, cheap, easy to find and usually black.

This is going to sound crazy, but the best gloves for gaming with your skin condition might be stretch lace or nylon gloves. They are made from the same stuff as pantyhose, so they'll let your skin breath without allowing dead skin to escape. They are easy to wash, dry quickly, and are not very expensive.
It may be hard to find ones that fit if you have big hands, but I suppose that's what plus size lingerie stores are for..

Why not just drop the controller in a zip lock bag when you go to play.

Use a seam ripper to remove the leather bits from Driving Gloves (non-insulated, and honestly women's driving gloves are the best choice since they fit tighter), the sleek gloves you are left with will be perfect. A seam ripper is very easy to use.

This might sound stupid but have you tried using batting gloves or mechanix gloves. I came home one day after baseball practice and my wife had asked me why I was playing with my batting gloves, told her I was still sweating and didn't want to sweat all over the controllers. I wear a large in batting gloves and they were actually really comfortable. HMMMMM, possible idea to patent gloves if someone knew what they were doing. Don't know if it has been done but doubt it would be all the rave, just my two cents.

back in the N64 days, Nintendo offered free gloves through Nintendo Power because when people would play Mario Party, they would move the analog stick with the palm of their hand and develop a blister. That offer in addition to the regular idiot message (use your thumbs git!).
Avoid the latex gloves. It doesn't breathe and will end up sticky and sweaty on the inside.
A lot of suggestions for batting/golfing/driving gloves. A tight fitting pair sounds like it would work best.
I use a pair of waterskiing gloves for kayacking for grip and blister avoidance, but these would certainly bee too thick and tough for working a controller. Stick to the driving gloves.

I've actually seen iPod gloves for sale. The iPod ClickWheel apparently relies on electrical impulses from your fingers which are blocked by normal gloves, so these are the only solution if you want to use your iPod in the cold. Or at least that's what the marketers would have you believe.

Huh. I've never heard of those, but they seem like the best option so far as long as they're not outrageously expensive.

A little off-topic but didn't the Powerglove have a d-pad? I remember in that AVGN video when he's reviewing the Powerglove while playing Double Dragon 3 he stops trying to use it properly & just starts using it like a regular nes controller.
