Seriously, though, you're not going to get that much. Maybe someone, somewhere, is willing to pay $25k in one fell swoop for a game collection, but it'd still have to have complete console libraries or something. Remember a few months ago (okay, maybe it was a year) when an entire CIB set of NES games went for auction on ebay for $20k? It didn't sell. Neither did the gold NWC cart from around the same time that was also asking $20k (of course, that one was in horrible condition, but I digress).

It is definitely a nice collection, though; better than mine. But it's not worth $25k, sorry.

Yea i just got back from niagra falls. At the casino we went too the change back rate was around $104.00 for our $100.00. Not much difference at all. Man a can of Red Bull up there was $6.00!!!! lol

I'd say it's pretty obvious, Red Bulls sell for that much because people (mainly hardcore gamblers) will pay it when there are casinos involved. ;) (it's just a shame our casinos don't offer free drinks for gamblers.. cheap bastards..)

As for our Canadian dollar.. it's funny, my parents are heading to Vegas in a few days, and they're accepting our dollar at par. So :P

And third, I see no problem with this guy selling his collection for $25,000.. sure, it's a long shot, but there's nothing wrong with testing the waters. You never know, maybe some rich guy just wants an instant collection and doesn't matter how much it costs. :D

The TG-16 collection might be worth a few thousand on its own. The complete Neo Geo games are no trifling think.

The PS1 RPG's always sell for too much; they are often a starting point for many collections.

Your Sega CD stuff could make a few hundred sollars just for a few games.

Sold as a lot $25,000 does seem impossible, but individually you should make back what you paid, plus some. $10,000 is the low-end I think.

I've never had a Red Bull before, but I quite like the taste, and price, of Red Rain:

I buy these for $18.50 for 24, much better than $3 cans of Red Bull (again, I haven't had a Red Bull before so I don't know how much these compare, but the taste of the Red Rains has won me over so I don't care about the can priced 4x more right next to it.)

Mind you $18.50 is the case price, but individually They're still under $2 each. I believe Walmart has them in cases of 4 for $4.50

I don't drink, smoke, or weed either. But I'm not addicted to Red Rains either. They do work for a nice pick-me-up in the morning though, or help to keep me awake all night. ;)

Perhaps smaller lots that are platform/hardware grouped? With a lot this large someone would reasonably expect a deep discount for helping you clear it all out and save you the trouble of individual sales. That's all from me... damn, I want a Red Bull something fierce for some reason. O_O

I agree. 10K is the absolute bottom end for your stuff.

I think $15k is more like it. Premium and/or 'retail' pricing on some stuff, not everything.

Not to be negative but you probaly would have a better chance of selling this stuff if you broke the stuff into lots and be willing to break up the lots. But if you dont then you probably wont sell anything, but thats just my opinion

I checked your IGN list. I think the value you are being shown is more than double what it should be. The average game in you collection is not worth $27....nice collection but IGN must be pulling retail prices to value your collection (which might be good if you have it insured, you probably could use the IGN list for replacement value).

But did you consider that about 700 out of those 980 are factory sealed? Including my entire DS and X360 collections, and the majority of my Dreamcast, N-Gage, and American PSone collection's... Bearing in mind that this is predominantly a PAL collection and not an NTSC U collection. Not to mention all the rarities I have that are super rare to find sealed, such as some of my N64 games which are worth almost 5x their original RRP these days (Ie, Paper Mario which I have seen fetch over £300, and Mario Kart which has been recently topping £200)

I take it as an average value of the whole collection, as the games that are worth more than the average are offset by the games that are worth below average
