I bought a used CD-I off of a friend in non-working condition. He's the only owner it's ever had and it just simply stopped working one day. He tried contacting phillips and several electronics stores and it seems absolutely NOBODY is qualified to fix this thing? Does anybody have any suggestions? It's the basic American model (most common).

Random guess by some guy who has no clue: The CDi has a built in power supply, right? Try getting another CDi and swapping the power supply.

It would be most helpful to know what stopped working. Does the unit not power up or does it have a different problem, like it doesn't read cd's?
