Hey all,

I just recently bought an auction on eBay a day or so ago. Everything went well, the payment when through fine, etc. However, when I looked at the tracking number today, I was realized that the seller sent the package to my old address, which is 3 hours away! Confused, I opened up Paypal, and realized that Paypal had sent him my old address, even though I had changed all my account info in eBay, Paypal and elsewhere to my new address.

So, now I've got a package that's coming on the 14th that will arrive 3 hours away. Are there any options for me at this point? Is there anyway I can circumvent the package and get it to the right address? I figure you guys have been selling and buying more than I have, so one of you might have an answer to my problem. Thanks in advance!

Did you leave a forwarding address with the post office where you used to live? Perhaps you can get the number for that post office and call them and tell them to forward your mail or send them a change of address slip so that they will forward it.

Yes, normally there would be, but I moved over six months ago, and new people have taken up residence in the old house. Therefore, nothing gets forwarded to this address anymore.

Also, it wasn't sent through USPS, it was sent via FedEx -- sorry for not mentioning that earlier.

see if your seller can call fedex and have them reroute it.

That's possible? I didn't know that. I'll go ahead and drop the seller a note. Thank you!

That can definately be done. I've done it at work with both UPS and Fed-Ex.

Anything shipped through Fed-Ex must include a phone number so they may end up calling you when they find out the address is wrong, unless we are talking about Fed-Ex Ground which is a different entity altogether.

Fedex will not do anything.

I was going on vacation and i called fedex to hold my package twice. They said ok and it was still sent when i was on vacation. It was a good think it was still there.

Hey Gapporin, I'm that seller! I just got off the phone with fedex and filed a reroute request. Sounds like the package will go to the terminal nearest your old address then get re-addressed and forwarded on, so overall may take a little longer than usual to arrive.

I sent you a message thru ebay with tracking info and a service request confirmation number that for privacy reasons I won't repeat here.

If I had the wrong phone number for you (proved by ebay), you might want to call fedex and correct that, too.

Let's keep our fingers crossed on this one!

Gapporin, check your email. There's another issue which may need resolving. Or not.
