This is what I've found to collect the most for. Usually I just raid the old Gamestop stuff for the sports games and other places for other games. I like the N64 a lot. :)

So anybody else collect for the N64?

Topic officially for N64 collector's!@_@

Well I dont know if you can say I actually "Collect" it but I bought one when they first came out and we played with if for years. I recently came back from CGE with a ton of Colecovision Carts. While unpacking my Coleco I found my old N64 at the bottom of the box so I set it up too. I think it got overlooked because of the Playstation 1 but there were some great games on it. My favorites were:

WCW/NWO Revenge
Super Smash Brothers
Conkers Bad Fur Day

The Mario Party games were fun too.

i love the n64. have around 30 games or so. Havn't gone looking for more. I got it a year after itcame out (couldn't afford it at launch) and i loved it and played it regularly until i got a gamecube.

I currently have 42 N64 games in my collection. While I like the system, I've got almost every game that's appealing to me.

I like the system well enough, but it's not a huge focus for me. I'm endeavoring to get all of its Star Wars titles as well as the big Nintendo licenses like Zelda, Mario and Pokemon.

I consider it a significant system since it's essentially the last cartridge-based non-portable. I'm also one of the few people I know who actually likes the controller.

Being an accessory fiend, I like to find extras as well. I recently got a hold of a Gameshark and some controller extension cables.

Not a huge fan, but I'm still very glad I have one.

I have in the area of 60-70 N64 games. I got my Nintendo 64 when they first came out, and whenever I see a cheap game I pick it up. I dont go out of my way to collect for it though.

I don't actively collect for the N64. However, I do buy games for it every time I see them cheap. Why not? I believe it has a much better lineup of wrestling games than the Playstation did. Some good wrestling games came out for the Nintendo 64, particularly stuff like WCW/NWO Revenge, WWF No Mercy and to a lesser extent WCW World Tour and WWF Warzone.

I see WCW/NWO Revenge all over the friggin' place for like $2. For those $2 a person can get one of the best wrestling games ever made, complete with a battery backup, a HUGE roster of WCW/NWO guys from that era, a user-friendly control scheme, awesome multiplayer and a shitload of different modes and options. It didn't have a "storyline" mode at all, the graphics dropped a little here and there and the original entrance music was missing but otherwise that game kicked ass.

I used to enjoy some of the sports games, as well, particularly the ones by Acclaim. Ah, the N64. Good little sysytem that was. I remember playing Nascar 99 on it shortly after I first got the system and being amazed at how realistic the graphics were. Speaking of graphics, Ocarina of Time was a massive leap above Link to the Past in the graphics department. People may hate the 3D Zelda games and their gameplay but you can't deny how much better the graphics of Zelda looked on a new system, compared to Super NES, regardless of how many people complain about the blur.

I consider myself an N64 nut, considering I have a boxed US set and only missing about 15 manuals. I also collect systems minus the Pokemon Box set. The system has some gems, and boxed games are going to be harder to find in the wild. I hopefully will be updating my room of doom soon with my new room of doom pics showing off my "Nintendo Wall".

Obviously, some people collect for it (I would imagine many do, actually). Personally, I'm not a big fan. I've tried time and again to get into it, but the console as a whole can't really hold my interest, for whatever reason. I only have 14 games, but I'm surprised that I've not been more intrigued by the software. It hasn't earned the wrath of the closet yet, but the next time I get a new system, I'm probably going to have to put *something* away, and the N64 will likely be the first to go.

Don't get me wrong--it has some great titles. It's just that, beyond SM64, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and Star Fox, nothing's appealing.

:(

Haha, I'm just going for loose carts right now, I don't care for boxes, though I might later. Systems, eh, not so much. I have the one I have now, but I need an expansion pack, transfer pack, and rumble pack to name a few that I'll probably eBay later (if I can find official ones).

I wish the Gamestops around me still sold N64 stuff. The only store around here that sells classic games wants about $15 for any given N64 game and $10 for a controller, so that's out. I can only get stuff at the flea market :(

Did find Super Mario 64 there last week for $5 though. I was really pumped about that.

I think it was a low point for Nintendo (who is obviously experiencing a renaissance currently).

I didn't even get it until the summer of '99. Mainly, I was in college, worked part-time jobs (sometimes full-time hours) and had a girlfriend who required all the remaining time. Once we finally broke up, I found I had a ton of time. So I got it and Starfox 64, and then Goldeneye shortly after that.

Loved the Zeldas, Perfect Dark and a few others, but never played it much after the GameCube came out. Lately, though, I've been getting back into it and other consoles from the late 90's. Such an odd little era for games.

(I edited the topic title to give it official status. These kinds of topics have worked exceptionally well in modern gaming for DS, 360, etc. Lets see how it works for a "dead" system.)

I used to collect for N64, but got out of it at around 100 games because of space issues and I wanted to focus on other things. I really enjoy the N64, and even though it has it's faults, I still think it gets too much flack for what it is.

This past weekend I played through GoldeneEye a couple times, beat Pokemon Snap for the first time since it came out, and discovered Wetrix which is an amazing game I would deem a sleeper hit. First thing I did after playing was go on ebay to find one (though, admittedly I went after the DC version which I figured would be better in graphics and sound quality).

I got the console at launch and loved it ever since. Sadly, I haven't actively collected for it in years. I may pick up collecting for it again at some point.

I went through a period where I was trying to get every unique accessory and add-on for the system. I ought to take a picture of it all hooked up together, though unfortunately I sold the CD64 a couple years ago and then the Tristar 64 last year, so it wouldn't look as impressive as it once did.

Here's my famous pics of the N64 Tower, though (I post it in just about every N64 related topic I come across--sorry for being such a shameless self-promoter):
http://www.geocities.com/sweaterfishdeluxe/pics/nintower_1.js
http://www.geocities.com/sweaterfishdeluxe/pics/nintower_2.js

Add to that the ArcadeShark joystick (which is one of the few arcade sticks available for any console that includes the analog as well as digital stick, so it's great for games like Bangaioh and Robotron), MadCatz Rumble Fishing Rod, Gameshark, SharkWire modem, Hey You Pikachu mic, Tetris 64 Pulserate monitor, Gameboy Transfer Pac (with Gameboy Camera!) and so on and you've got the idea.

Boy, I'm glad I'm through with that phase.

Holy Howard Phillips Batman, that N64 tower is amazing! Is that converter at the top, official? Did they make any games for the CD player?

At one time, probably 6 years ago, I had more games for N64 than any other system at the time, because I had traded/sold off so much during my teen years. Now, my reacquiring has put it to the bottom of the list. The N64 was the first system I kept all the boxes for, because the artwork was very nice on them. So I have CIB for all my games, although I keep the games in an N64 game drawer. I might well just sell off all the boxes though. Hate to, but they are just not economical in terms of space. Although it's impossible to know which game is which in the game drawer, because Nintendo didn't design the cartridge for top decals.

Yeah, Wetrix can be pretty darn fun. I've actually heard that a lot of people prefer the N64 version over the DC, but I've yet to try the Dreamcast version myself. You might also be interested in the sequel Aqua Aqua for PS2.

Anyway, I really wanted to add some more goofy, obscure N64 games to my collection this summer, but so far pretty much nothing has turned up. For the most part, all I've seen has been overpriced loose carts of sports and wrestling games. Maybe I'll find something cool in the last couple weeks I have left to go hunting.

I have a real soft spot for the N64. It may not have the library of the NES or SNES and I've been kind of neglecting it as of late, but it just has a charm to it. I'm sure part of it is that it's the only system I ever bought at launch, and in those early years I had Nintendo Power hyping me up. I bought more games brand new on release date in that period than any other. Eventually, though, my interest started to waver (I partially blame the Pokemon craze), so I let my subscription to Nintendo Power run out around late '99/early 2000. I picked up a PlayStation in '99, so that was also diverting my attention.

I never lost my love for it, though, and continued to get games for it every now and then. I pumped up my collection a few years ago when I started to find games really cheap. I also got into Japanese exclusives too. I got about 7 so far, and there are a few more that I'd get if I could find them (at a decent price, at least). All in all, I have about 70 N64 games, and I still have many more I want. Despite all the games that I do have, I'm still missing some of the "essentials" like Conker, Banjo Kazooie, Mario Tennis/Golf, all of the Mario Party titles, and more.

I still have my Nintendo 64, Expansion Pak, controllers, and a bunch of games. Some of my favorites are:

Super Mario 64
Wave Race 64
StarFox 64
Mischief Makers
1080 Snowboarding
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Bust a Move '99
Mario Golf
Pokemon Puzzle League
Perfect Dark
Conker's Bad Fur Day

Slightly less favorite, but still great:

Tetrisphere
Mario Kart 64
Cruis'n World
F-Zero X
Wetrix
Beetle Adventure Racing
Goemon's Great Adventure
Mario Tennis
Pokemon Snap
Ridge Racer 64

I never got into any of the wrestling games, but Acclaim's sports games (wrestling, baseball, football, etc.) had amazing graphics. The graphics in the All Star Baseball series and NFL Quarterback Club series on the N64 blew away the graphics in the Triple Play series and Madden series on the PlayStation. In fact, when I worked at a video game store, I had All Star Baseball 2001 running on the TV and customers thought it was a Dreamcast game.

The Dreamcast version of Wetrix looks a little bit crisper overall, but the water graphics look better in the Nintendo 64 version.

I actually have both Wetrix+ and Aqua Aqua en route at the moment. I'll probably try picking up the N64 one too when I can find a complete one in good shape.

As far as obscure N64 games go, all I can think of recommending is Disney's Magical Tetris Challenge. It has classic tetris on it, but it also has this crazy magical Tetris where you get insane pieces like 6x6 squares, 5x1 so you can get a quintris, and some pieces that have no good use at all.

While I do badmouth the graphics from time to time after a bout of modern gaming, I still love this system. There are a lot of games on there that "got things right" that developers still haven't gotten the concept of or haven't really built on or enhanced since.

I don't collect everything for this system and I pretty much have all the stuff I really like but, like others, will pick up other titles if the price is right. I think I'm in the neighborhood of about 40-45 cartridges.

I'm sort of a N64 nut. I bought one on launch day with my newspaper route money and I still have it. The wrestling games for it are amazing and I even have the JAP Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 as the only import in my N64 collection. I've always been fascinated by the 64DD since seeing it in Nintendo Power. One dream of mine is to move to Japan and another dream of mine is to purchase a 64DD there and create my own courses in F-Zero and play Sim-City.

How about Battletanx: Global Assault? It received very good reviews when it was released:

I collect most things N64, but the reason I started was simply that the N64 is the Nintendo consol whit the least games to collect.
I curently have all but 1 of the 244 pal games, and Im up to 301 unik titels so fare.

I love collecting N64 stuff. I have been collecting 64 games ever since the system launched. I only collect complete games, I currently have 83 complete N64 games. I had alot more but I had to sacrifice 31 N64 games to complete my Sega CD game collection. I think it was worth it.

This is the thread for me!

I love the N64, it is my most favorite system(tied with the Dreamcast). I have been an N64 owner and fan since '97, so far I have roughly 97 N64 games. I would love to collect them all, but that will take me awhile.

I am currently into N64 imports, if anybody has any good sites with some info or possibly a game listing, let me know!

Thanks!

The Nintendo 64 section is definitely not close to listing every game that came out in Japan, but it does have most of the notable releases with detailed information on some.

I wouldn't do anything to achieve it but it would be nice to do before I'm dead. Hell, I'd settle for just playing those two 64DD games on an authentic machine.

I only have about 30 boxed but I do have all the carts along with a couple imports. I was able to get them for about $5 each so I went out and bought just about all of them; even though I would have liked to have collected them complete. I have moved on to my Genesis collection but hope to come back for those N64 boxes and manuals some day.

Now - has anyone seen separated lists for titles exclusive to a region. I would like to collect some of the imports but so many titles were released with modified titles across the world it's tough to pick them out (except some of the Japanese titles).

The only title I am 'after' still for the n64 is the seemingly praised Sin and Punishment...

I have seen sealed copies of this on eBay for as little as £40. I have been tempted many times. I would also love to own this just for the sake of it. There's not many Japanese N64 games I can say I would want as part of my collection, but this is definitely one of them.

Huh? There's no such thing as a sealed Sin and Punishment or any sealed Japanese N64 game. The only difference between a new game and a used game is that the flapped has been popped open on one. Best thing to shoot for is just a really mint, perfect condition copy.

Ooooh....it's worth the chase. I was able to get a loose copy at a decent price. and it is a fun game to play. After seeing the game in action, you will be amazed at what the N64 is capable of (the attack on the battleships/aircraft carriers is a great example).
