So a few days ago I responded to a Craigslist posting for Silent Hill for $10. In the ad they said proceeds would go to charity and linked to a site that talked about it. I didn't think too much about it, as garage sales and whatnot are always selling stuff for some cause or another. I did glance at the website (http://www.hopefloatsfoundation.org/) though, and the foundation was set up because of a kid that had died of Leukemia (double plus bad variety).
Anyway, I still didn't think much of it. Went and met the woman who turned out to be this kid's sister. She was helping her parents sell some of her brother's things to help support his wish to keep giving little gifts to the other kids in his hospital (that's part of what the foundation does). It is all religiously affiliated, and I don't go in for that stuff, but it isn't like they are doing something bad in this case. Anyway, the Kicker is that she told me that this was one of Aaron's favorite games that he played a lot.
Well damn, I already feel a little bad when I get really good deals (even though I know ethically there isn't any problem with that), but this puts it over the top. So, I'm going to re-sell this thing and whatever I make is going to the charity. I guess you don't have any way to know that is what I'll do, but I'm not going to be asking an unfair price. I'll also include the business card for the charity that the woman gave me.
The game disc is in pretty good shape, only having those spider-fine scratches, though they do cover all of it. The manual is good, but does have a tweaked corner and some light scuffs near the binding on the back side. Case is fine.
ps. Mods: I already have a FS thread, but this seemed like it'd be okay to do separate. Let me know if that is a problem, or just shut it down.
