View Full Version : Is it even worth putting this stuff on eBay?

OK, I got a mixed batch of stuff I need to clear out of the house. I know the market is shit right now, but I was just wondering if someone who watches things closer than I could tell me in short if I'm going to be wasting my time trying to unload this stuff on eBay:

Boxed 2600 4 switch

Boxed 5200 4 port w/homemade power box and 3 controllers in typical shape
+ about 20 loose commons mostly with instructions

Boxed Sega CD 2 plus about a dozen commonish games

Virtual Boy with box and three games

NES toaster with about 30+ games (including Qix and Mega Man 6, those are the only rare-ish games there.)

I *think* that's it. Again, I'm not expecting a specific price (I know I didn't give much info.) Just am I going to get anything for this stuff or should I gift it to the teen around the corner?

It'll definitely sell. In fact, I'd be interested in the 2600, myself (unfortunately, don't have the money for it now).

I'd sell them all. Boxed consoles usually do pretty good, plus you have games with most of them, so that oughta raise up the price a little.

hold onto them for 3 months. Sell them around mid November.

I agree, do you know how many peoples' wives will end up buying thier husband that Atari that they used to have when they were kids. I still hear people at the flea markets talking like "oh I want an atari again, I want pitfall, pacman, kaboom, and all those other ones."

there is still a market for systems bundled with common games. The mass of the market know the common games, so those are the ones they'll want to buy.

On ebay, that I had cleaned up, polished motherboard connectors, with two games (Bandai Golf and Mario/DH)-which I also took apart and polished the contacts, one controller, RF adapter and power cable for $50. And the strange thing was- I started it out at .99 with no reserve and 10 shipping. On the other hand I sold another system with 2 common games, game genie, cables, and controller for 28.00- so go figure. The auctions ended with 20 minutes of each other. I advertised both as Non-Blinking units, and detailed the work I had done on them. Guess someone got caught up in the heat of bidding.

So what I'm saying... yeah it's worth it. Include games and they go for more. I only paid 3.00 for the nintendo at goodwill.

The virtual boy should do pretty well.
