Have we all seen the upcoming releases of Dragon's Lair in HD? Is anyone else interested in this/

It seems that some people are of the opinion that it does not need to be released on another format. However, I am kind of excited. I have never played the game much, though I did enjoy it when I first saw it in the arcade (and later on the 3DO if memory serves). I also watched the cartoon some when I was young. It appears to me to be aging fairly well; I saw a TV commercial for it and the graphics seem to transition to HD well enough.

So anyone else excited? Will we be look for Space Ace and the other games of this sort to be coming as well?

I've got Dragon's Lair on HD DVD sitting here. It's incredible to look at. The split screen comparison in the special features between the various formats it was released on really hammers home what the restoration has done. It's not just sharpness and clarity either. The color is simply unreal. It's so much more vibrant, and adds a ton to the "game."

It's not perfect of course. There is quite a bit of film grain because of the added clarity, and it can be annoying. However, without any extra compression, everything looks as good as you could possibly imagine. I can't wait for the rest of these releases, which yes, includes Space Ace and Dragon's Lair II.

As long as it doesn't have the weird pauses and horrid transitions of the DVD versions all should be great.

The Philips CD-i versions I have are still the best! I love how they added a highscore system to it, pretty neat. <------Course I haven't tried the Blu-Ray or HD-DVD versions have you.
