I feel Centipede/Millipede for the XBox 360 is way too difficult. The default speed in Throttle Monkey mode is insane. If you check Achievement requirements they all rely on you accomplishing in that mode. It's near impossible. I am curious to see if anyone here agrees with me or on the other hand finds the game too easy.

I played the trial, and yes throttle monkey was way too fast for me to even wrap my head around it. Missile Command throttle monkey is manageable, but still too fast as well.

Seriously, I think the game programmers are having a good laugh about this one.

Incorrect. Only two achievements require Throttle Monkey mode, one for each game.

You must be thinking of the Evolved mode, which is updated graphics and sound.

The speed is a bit quicker, but should be adjusted to with no problem. Throttle Monkey mode, though, is just insane.

Actually I don't think its that bad. With practice you should be able to get most of them. Granted I thing the evolved mode sucks so I won't be practicing that much. At least its better then Missle Command.

Well, I sure would love to use a trackball with this game. Too bad Microsoft doesn't offer one. Hell, even the ColecoVision had a trackball.

So the default difficulty is "Easy Difficulty"? It's only the speed of Throttle Monkey mode in either Evolved or Classic that I have a problem with. I understand some people like 'Twitch' games but this is ridiculous.

Doesn't the 360 have USB mouse and keyboard support though? I just bought one of these X-Arcade mouse trackballs and was wondering if it could be used for Centipede/Millipede:

I think the game would actually have to have USB mouse support in order to use it though, which I have no idea if it does or not. I should download the demo tonight and see if it'll work.

Okay, I just scored 19,586 on "Easy" difficulty. I was not given the 10G achievement for beating 16,543 on "Default" difficulty. This would lead me to believe that by "Default Mode" they mean "Throttle Monkey".

Of course you didn't get the achievement, as you didn't meet the criteria.

Changing the difficulty settings, more often than not, prevents achievements from being unlocked.

'Evolved' mode is the fancy-looking one.
'Classic' mode is the original arcade version.

'Throttle Monkey' can be applied to either one of the above modes for really fast gameplay.

Difficulty can be changed from the default for an easier game, regardless of 'Evolved' or 'Classic' mode. 'Throttle Monkey' has nothing to do with the difficulty settings.

I only see two settings in this game which I interpret to be difficulty settings which needs to be selected prior to starting a game:
"Easy"
"Throttle Monkey"

Where or What is the "Default" difficulty setting for either Evolved or Classic? And How is it selected?

Nothing is labeled "Default".

Go into the options menu. The difficulty settings are in there.

The speed is NOT the difficulty setting.

omg, thank you very much for clearing that up for me! I don't know that I ever would have found it otherwise.

Just out of curiosity, did it strike you as an odd place to put the difficulty settings? I does to me.

btw, Oobgarm, thanks to that info I was able to unlock two achievements tonight. So odd that the default mode is not default mode but easy mode.
