I recently picked up a player vs player Karate Champ Cocktail Cab for cheap. I am told that it was working but all of sudden died. The last person who had it changed the power supply but that wasn't the problem. I took it in and noticed a bunch of the power cables had weak connections and some just weren't connected at all. Now I am a complete noob at this I was wondering if some could steer me in the right direction. I was wondering how do I go on figuring out what cable goes on the power supply. I have the original manual but am tottally confused by it. Any one have any tips?
Post some pics and we could probably make some comments about what we see. Sometimes there's leftover wiring when a game gets converted, so it might not be a big deal. I'd also look at the manual: http://www.crazykong.com/manuals/KarateChamp.man.pdf to see if it helps any. Here's a good basic tutorial on wiring: http://www.therealbobroberts.net/acwiring.html , and all together http://www.therealbobroberts.net/ is a good reference and a great place to buy parts.
If you don't already have one and know how to use it, definitely get a multimeter... then you'll be able to test what is and isn't getting power, which will help narrow down the problem.
