Actually, Kotaku (http://kotaku.com/gaming/rumor/donkey-kong-64-heading-to-ds-285102.php) reported a few days ago that's there's a rumor in the latest issue of Ngamer about Donkey Kong 64 coming to the DS. I guess we'll see what happens.

Please god no more 3D games on the DS, the vast majority of them handle like crap, especially if your left handed (Mario 64 DS I'm looking at you).

I wouldn't mind seeing this happen. I never picked up the N64 version, so I would most likely grab this one.

Oh god.. please no. Donkey Kong 64 is the epitome of everything that is wrong with collectathon platformers.. much in the same way Banjo Kazooie / Mario 64 was everything right about them.

I think we'll definitely see it on the VC, but not the DS.
And we need a new Punch-Out (Wii controls of course) and Kid Icarus (Wii or DS.)

That was the best part of the game! I love that song! Now, I hated the game, but that song was awesome. Personally, I don't really like 3D platformers.

Donkey Kong 64 was really annoying to play so they can leave that game in the past where it deserves to be.
Now a Donkey Kong Country style 2D game on Wii would be far more interesting.

Nintendo owns the rights to the DK series, so it shouldn't be a problem. And even if it was, Rare developed the remake of Diddy Kong Racing for the DS. It seems that Rare is allowed to make handheld titles for Nintendo, just not console games.
BTW, I thought the DK Rap was pretty awesome...it was a nice intro that set the tone for the main game. Nintendo butchered it with that Smash Bros. Melee version, though.
