Yesterday I was on the road for work and one of the clients I visited was a company that makes mmorpgs for PCs. I get off the elevator, and am greeted with a mini classic arcade. Around the corner were even more games in excellent condition original cabinets. I can't remember everything, but they had 2 Lunar Landers, Tempest, Frogger, Galaga, Dig Dug, Tron and several others. Not a single 6 button fighting game in sight! If I worked there, I'd never get anything done.

Not too surprising finding an arcade at a game developer's office, but cool nonetheless.

- Last year with my old job I spent a lot of time visiting these clients that sold network hardware. Inside their warehouse area they had a Killer Instinct II cab which had been MAME'd and was free for all to use. Owning a MAME cab myself, I was impressed to see another one in action, and made by somebody local whom I'd never even met.

- Another client wrote software for law offices. They had a Vindicators cab in their break room. At one point management decided to simply get rid of the thing and offered it up first come, first serve. Despite the fact that it was working perfectly, nobody seemed to want the thing, so they called me, knowing I had an interest in such things. Owing to a lack of space at the house, plus little experience or personal interest in the Vindicators game I said no, and I'm still kicking myself over that.

I'm probably preaching to the choir, but never, ever say no to free, working cabs, even if you don't especially like the game.
