I just tried playing my Turbo Express for the first time in several years the other day and couldn't get it working. I would just get a solid yellow screen with no sound or anything else.

I was using rechargeable batteries to power it. I'm not positive, but I thought I remember reading something a long time ago about the Turbo Express not being able to run on rechargeables. Is that the case or is it most likely broken? I just cleaned the contacts too, so I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Also, I have a loose TG-16 power supply laying around. Is that compatible with the Express or does it require a different one?

The main issue with rechargable batteries is, unlike alkalines, which drop load suddenly when they're close to the end of their lifespan, rechargables will tend to drop load slightly at a couple of points. Some equipment doesn't take well to this.

Sucks, but try some alkaline non-rechargables in it. As for the power supply, I can't help you with that.

I use rechargeable batteries in my Turbo Express and had no problems.

I use Energizer Rechargeable 2500mah batteries..I use them in everything...It's all I buy..

I played the Turbo Express for quite awhile-did this the other day..lets just say I was having a hard time getting off the bowl..:p

I think its something to do with the system, or maybe your batteries. Becuase mine works fine with rechargeables.
