Quick question about PS3 controllers.

If you connect your PS3 controller to the PS3 through the USB cord and keep it plugged in, does it act as a wired controller?

I know the 360 Play and Charge kit doesn't turn the controller into a true wired controller, but if the PS3 does make it wired, I won't have to worry about controller desyncs at all.

Even if it's connected via the USB cord, you still have to press the "Playstation" button when playing a PS2 or PS1 game to reactivate the controller.
