View Full Version : What are some good Sega Saturn imports?

I've recently obtained an Action Replay device for my Sega Saturn and imported a few games: Sonic Jam, Street Fighter Zero, and Tetris Plus. I'm pretty sure all these games were released in the United States, but I was able to get them cheaper through importing. Plus I don't have to deal with the annoying Sega Saturn U.S game cases that way. I thought the Playstation cases were bad when it came to cracks.

But, now I'm looking for games that were actually not released in the Untited States, and are still good. I'm also looking for some games that are a little cheaper then $50. I would love to pick up Metal Slug and Castlevania Symphony of the Night, but I'm saving them for later.

I am still open to any suggestions how ever. I really would like to stay away from any RPG, or strategy game out there since I wouldn't be able to understand it at all. I, how ever, wouldn't mind a turn-based strategy game just as long as the story feels tacked on and is not needed to enjoy the game, and it's easy to pick up.

Right now my preffered genres would be action/adventure, shooters, and racing games. Any suggestions would be appreciated ;).

Saturn has so much Japanese only released Games you wouldn't believe, from which about at least 50 are on must have list.
although many exceed $50 point(even $150-$200 price range), but under $50 there are quite a few worth mentioning:
Soukyugurentai, Metal Slug(if you're lucky), Waku Waku 7, Donpachi, Dodonpachi, Cotton 2, Boomerang(although it may be hard to find for $50), all SNK ports of KOF's are pretty good, same goes for Samurai Spirits beat'em ups, Sonic Wings Special is decent, Thunder Force Games(maybe tough too to find them for less than what you can spend on them), Panzer Dragoon Saga in Japanese if you don't mind not knowing what's going on ^_~, Capcom Generations are really great too and many more,
plenty to choose from.

Castlevania X - Nocturne in the Moonlight
Konami Salamander Plus Pack
Konami Gradius Plus Pack
All of the Capcom Generation discs

Again, as stated earlier, there are just dozens of awesome Japanese titles...this tiny list is just a drop in the bucket, but some great games that I really love on my Saturn.
