Super Puzzle Fighter 2

I just got this game for 5 dollars and it didn't worked. Went to Game Crazy and got it polished but still doesn't work. After the Capcom screen it goes to a solid black screen and just hangs. I am using a slim PS2 and was wondering if anyone else might have had some problems with backwards compatibility with some PS1 games.

Not a problem, it sucks because SPF2T is one of my favorite games.

not to threadjack, but has anyone seen a list of ps1 games that are incompatible with slim ps2?

VACRMH, do you happen to know if there is a master list of PSone games that are not compatible with the PS2's whether fat or slim?
