After seeing that we got the shaft and did NOT get the tin like Europe got, Bioshock is not one of my favorite Limited Editions.

Yeah, the US version is not worth the time or money to put together IMO. The soundtrack is really really awful and no metal case just irks me. This is one of the worst ones in my mind.

I don't think it is that bad. I think is one of the best ones in a long time to come the usa way.
The worst one would have to gamestops re4 that is the tobias bruckner award for ultimate rippoff for 10.00 extra. I think I barfed when I opened the package. I initially thought I was ripped off I was going to go back to the store to see if I was missing something. If there is one worse than that let me know.
All tin and no substance just a small baseball sized little comic book and picture totally asstacular.
I think the last american one that offered something other than a cd\dvd\book was growlanser. I was surprised by the size of the bioshock lmt ed.

The american one is ok, it comes with a huge Big Daddy figure. It looks really nice!

I think it's funny that someone made a thread focusing on how "awesome" the LE version is.
It's SO awesome that I canceled it and took my $10 and ran. How can they release a LE version that doesn't even have the metal slip case the regular one has? That's just stupid -- and I think I'm officially done letting publishers steal that $10 from me for gold foil and figurines I won't care about in six months. I want the game, so I'll buy the game.
The only CE/LE worth buying was the MGS3 one -- and I have that. Done and done.

That's pretty much how I see it.

In all fairness I believe this one the creator took a poll and asked the fans what they would like. I am suprised at all the negativity especially when a publisher at least made an attempt to please the fans.
Sure there have been alot of le ce jerks Ex. splinter cel\gamestop re4 l. but this one is definately worth the ten bucks.
I am all for pooping on the companies that gaffle the consumer.
I was starting to get a little worn myself. I am glad it turned out to be nice. As far as tins go what was the first console le\ce tin case was it doom 3

The first to have that style of metal case? It was Halo 2. They used that same case shape later for the limited editions for Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, then Doom 3, Perfect Dark Zero, RE4 PS2 and Lost Planet.

I'm on the fence about this one. The figurine is kind of interesting, but I'm getting weary of chasing collector's editions. Isn't that game supposed to come out on the PS3 sometime down the road? I may just wait to see what they'll offer.
The most pathetic CE experience I've had so far is with the Xbox's Call of Duty 2: Big Red One Collectors Edition. My God! That thing had nothing! It didn't even warrant a second disk to put the extra DVD dribbles on. Sheesh!

I like the figurine, but I wish there was more to it.

I was about to get the LE. But Joystiq had a report that alot of people are opening theirs up to find their Big Daddy figurines are broken.
I can live my life without a figurine... This game more than makes up for the lack of one.

I thought the Xbox's LE version of Doom III was pretty snazzy. It had the first two Dooms, a solid metal case, and only cost me 10 bucks.

I could add Castlevania: PoR's preorder bonus - if I had been smart and pawned mine for the amazing amounts of moolah it was fetching on eBay. I would rather be sentimental and hold onto mine, though (I haven't even opened either box, though...)
Mortal Kombat Deception premium edition (PS2) is my all time favorite. The 2nd disc was loaded with cool extras, including MK1.

Well when we voted for the tin, and were then told that we'd get this tin among other things, we kinda expected it. It was produced for the Euro release, but they just chose to not give it to us.

Aparently 2K is going to be doing some kind of figure replacement thats not been announced fully yet on their site. You'll mail it in, and they'll mail you back a new one and an Art book for the trouble.

THIS JUST IN:
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin was IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM a Collector's Edition
This public service announcement brought to you by the number 7 and the letters PapaStu
Oh yeah, no tin? So what, only some special Linux edition of Quake III got a tin release. Nothing new here...

Steelbooks, they're f'ing snazzy. I really am a sucker for them.

RE4's GameStop preorder bonus also had a "steel book" type case for the game box (kinda redundant lol)

I kinda liked the Gears of War limited edition, I thought the hardcover book and groovy tin were worth the extra 10 beans...
Other than that, Halo 2 sucked for the extra coin in my opinion...Except for the free slushy coupon. (No I didn't use it LOL)

You guys should do what I did. I bought the regular PC version (bc lol keyboard + mouse ftw) and the LE of the 360 version. The game is so good everyone should be buying it twice!
