A good friend of mine had an accident last week, because of this accident his left arm got paralysed :( He probably can't use his left arm anymore for the rest of his life. Well here's the question me and another friend want to give him something since he will be getting surgery numerous times. We thought of giving him a wii since you can play most of the wii sports games with one arm. But are there any more games then wii sports that you can play with just the wiimote?

Excite Truck requires two hands, you have to hold it like a steering wheel.

Wii Play comes to mind for a decent one handed game, but nothing else coming to mind right now, sorry.

Good luck with your friends recovery!

Havnt tried it myself, but i think Elebits only requires the Wiimote, or? Super Mario Galaxy (not out yet) will have 2 player and what how i've understood it, the 2nd player will only use the Wiimote.

Elebits requires the nunchuck control so it is need two hands.

A good game using only one hand:

Kororinpa: Marble Mania

Madden 08 with family mode turned on
Korinipiaiaia (whatever that marble game is called)
Mario party 8?
I forget if elebits has an option for wiimote only
Wiiplay

I can't think of anymore right now.

Kororinpa!
It's my favourite Wii game. Although you are a bit more steady with 2 hands on the wiimote

You know, you might also consider a DS for your friend. A lot of games are entirely controlled by the stylus, and so only require one hand. Most people would use their non-stylus hand to hold up the DS, but you could easily play it by setting the DS down on a table or your lap, and then wouldn't need two hands.

Maybe this is a little off topic, but is your friend into RPGs at all? I ask because I know that there's a third party controller for the PS1 that's meant to be used singlehanded. That, and the fact that most RPGs don't require a lot of reflexives.

Earthbound can also be played entirely one-handed, but it's left handed 8/

I think DOA volleyball has a one-handed mode (seriously).

They really do need to come out with more options for times like this.

I know nes had that handicapped headset, but what if you're in a cast or your arm/hand doesn't work at all?

Come on third party companies.

Didn't there used to be a company that catered to things of this nature? Making controllers/games for people with disabilities/other problems?

I swear there used to be but I think it was during the 16 bit days

There's also Wii Fit, you'll only need the Balance Board. (AFAIK) What about Zack and Wiki? Do you use the nunchuck at all?
