Two Worlds: Is it coming out or not?

I've been looking forward to this game for months, and every time I check, it's pushed back SNKP style. It was finally supposed to be released yesterday alongside Bioshock and now it got pushed back two days? What games are released on a Thursday? Are they having that many shipping problems or is this game still not ready yet? Any more delays and I'm just saying fuck it and waiting for Eternal Sonata. Rant over.

Edit: While I'm on the topic, how come I haven't heard a word from anywhere about this game?

Same here. I've been looking for it for the last few weeks. You're right though, I haven't heard much about it, makes me wonder if I shouldn't wait awhile before picking it up.

I read yesterday that the delay was due to "packaging issues". I guess Bioshock and Madden '08 used up all the 360 DVD cases the disc manufacturer had on hand.

I've had a hell of a time trying to download the PC demo (I will buy this on 360...if I buy it at all). The game is essentially a sandbox, 3rd-person, Oblivion clone with multiplayer components (all achievements are single player thankfully). Apparently with a larger in-game world. It sounds interesting and looks great from the videos I've watched. The game was delayed 3-4 times and now is coming out at a bad time. There are too many A-list titles this year for this one to stand out.

Yeah this title seems to be getting little attention. I saw some reviews from Europe that gave it around 7.5 out of 10 on average. I'm downloading the demo; didn't no it existed yet until heybtbm mentioned it -- thanks for that. Will report back.

I'm guessing that the reason we haven't heard too much about it is the relative lack of quality (as demonstrated by the PC demo, at least).

The game is often compared to Oblivion, but it reminds me a lot more of a cross between Gothic III and Ultima IX (remember that one?) Overall, the game seems to be much more stable than Gothic III, but it's no graphical powerhouse, and the voice acting ranges from mediocre to downright awful. Also, the demo drops you in the middle of nowhere with no real sense of what you need to do. At least the quest log and map are fairly useful. Some people have also complained of control issues, especially with the mounts, but I don't have any problems here (though lock-on targeting of mobs would help a lot!)

Not to say that the game is bad--in fact, I enjoyed playing around with the demo and I'm still planning to pick the game up--but Oblivion it's not. Unfortunately for the developers, I don't think the game will go over real well with American reviewers.

Damaniel pretty much summed it up. I cranked the graphics to max and it played smoothly. Did not look bad, but not anything new. The characters looked good I thought. The music was decent but the voice acting really was awkward at times.

I think it's very playable but I need to get farther into the demo and see how these quests shape up.

The demo does not give you any clues as to what to do or what the controls are.

Any idea what the multiplayer part of the game is like?

Bah, still no update on the ebgames site and amazon is now listing it to ship on the 24th. I tried to go to the store yesterday to ask when I got off work, but everyone there was still in Bioshock frenzy mode and I couldn't even get a salesperson to talk to me.

Gamestop told me today that they are being told it will ship today/tomorrow and may not be in stores until Monday.

EBGamestop is listing it as shipping within 24 hours. At this point I guess stores will have it in for Monday or Tuesday. I printed out that coupon, now where is it?

I mentioned the reason earlier in this post. Two Worlds was scheduled to be released Tuesday, but Bioshock and Madden '08 depleted all of the 360 DVD-cases. They had to make more and the whole process delayed the release of the game 3 days.
