Hey Everyone, I am trying to replace a part on my cocktail cab but I am not sure what its called so I can't search where to get it. Under the glass on top of the cab lies the artwork bezel, under that there is a black plastic as big as the glass. Its used for reflections I believe its like the same stuff sunglasses are made out of. Anyone know what the heck its called and where to get a replacement one, for some odd reason mine is scratched up. I checked arcadeshop.com and I THINK its called, the Smoked Monitor Plexi. Is this correct??

That is correct.
But they're not necessarily needed. Infact, I haven't seen a cocktail with one installed, since the early 80's. Most arcade operators took them out, seeing how arcades were pretty dark, to begin with. My galaga cocktail doesn't have one.

yeah I was thinking of just leaving it out. Thanks diskoboy.
But it does make them look better... I have them in all of my cabs that should because it hides screen burn-in, and the black looks nicer when the cab is off than the gray screen.

Should be pretty easy to find some tinted plexiglass in your area. We have a place called "TAP Plastics" around here that I use.

Yeah, I've also gone to Wal*Mart and got some static cling window tint for cars and put it right on the monitor glass. It's a little tough because the glass is curved, but just lay it on there, stretch it a little bit and hit it with a heat gun to get the ripples out. It doesn't give it quite the same smooth look that the flat piece of plexi does, but the black screen looks better when it's off.
