I'd thought this was a thing of the past, but the recent trend for white consoles and handhelds has me slightly worried. I've already noticed a yellowing of the 360 controller where hands are in contact with the plastic. The same thing has also happened around the d-pad, shoulder buttons and plastic "feet" of my DS. I got the DS and 360 for my birthday so both are only about four months old.
I make sure i have clean hands before I use either the DS or the 360 (I like to make sure all my gaming equipment is kept in the best possible condition), so I'm not sure why the plastic is discolouring. I'm also the only person who really uses the DS and the 360, so I can't blame it on friends with grubby hands.
Is anyone else experiencing similar problems? And does anyone know how to remove this discolouration? I used a little surgical spirit (rubbing alcohol) on the DS which seeme to partially remove the yellowing, but it also leaves the plastic looking dull.
I'm guessing that the only way around this is to buy black controllers and handhelds... :(
