If you wait till Xmas K-Mart will take back merchandise without a receipt. Or at least they use to.

Since you're in Canada, try Zellers. I swapped a sealed GB micro for the famicom version without a receipt there.

Since you wanted a black one but just received a black one, you can simply exchange it for a pink one at any store that only stocks blue ones. Unless of course you don't want a white one, in which case you're short of luck...

Something I've been wondering: if you send Nintendo your DS Lite because it is slightly defective, can you request a differently-colored refurb unit?
Since my DS Lite has a dead pixel or two and it's still under warranty, I'm told I would be entitled to send it in, though it doesn't quite seem worth the trouble - unless I can get it in a different color.

I'm still not understanding. OP would you please clarify? You are getting a black one, you wanted a black one. What's the problem here?
