Special Suprise Guest at PAX! It's everyone's favorite movie director, here to talk about his newest masterpiece, POSTAL!.....where's everybody going?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-OYgE_ectE

30 minute video, his entire appearance at the expo. People are walking out through the entire video, as well as yelling their opinions of him and his movies. Oh, the schadenfreude......

That's kinda fucked up the way the crowd reacted but he had to have seen it coming.

that had to hurt but he does kind of deserve it I mean he needs to stop making movies or at least game movies either stop or start making quality films! postal was a terrible game so I cant imagine the movie being any good

Same here, until I remember that I wasted rental money on both Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead.

You should have known better. You didn't feel like checking out any reviews beforehand or listening to any word of mouth to get a general idea of what you'd be in store for?

Also, paying for individual rentals instead of having a Netflix or Blockbuster subscription = you lose.

that was too funny.he deserves that just for house of the dead.

I actually feel sorry for him. I mean, I could understand if he said something to really offend them, but still.

I'm sorry, but that just screams low class, uptight, and stuck up.

I do feel bad for the guy but I don't think I would sit through that either. I don't think there was a need to get on the mic to bitch at him like that one woman did. "Get off the $#%^ing stage. Blah blah blah. Get off the $#%^ing stage" Watching 80% of the auditorium get up and walk out on you would send a message.

What amazes me, more than anything:

Why the studios keep giving this guy money and a camera. You'd think by now, even the b-movie studios wouldn't come near this guy.

I have blockbuster rewards so with house of the dead it was a free middle rental. I can usually sit through a cheesy horror film, but HoD was worse then usual. Its kind of hit or miss whats for rent in the middle. I like to go in and find something that looks interesting, not spend time creating a list of films to look for.

I am not too picky and find some enjoyment in 90% of the movies I rent so I rarely look up reviews. Hell, I watched battlefield earth a few weeks ago and got a kick out of it. And when I do look up reviews its many times pointless. Take being john malkovich, it got good reviews but I found it dreadful.

He knows how to shoot films on a shoestring budget, people like working with him, he completely believes that what he's making are great films, and his films make a shit load of money compared to how much they cost to produce. They're almost sure bets to invest in.

So what if all of his movies are shit? It's all about the $$.

Take being john malkovich, it got good reviews but I found it dreadful.

I didn't much care for that movie at all the first time I watched it (bought it because of the reviews, found it dull and annoying to watch), but I gave it another shot a few years ago and actually enjoyed it a lot. Never gave Battlefield Earth another shot since seeing it in theaters...not sure if I ever will. It just doesn't nail the pure cheese factor well enough :(

Oh, and when I can't figure out what to queue up in the Netflix list, I check the IMDB Top 250 (http://www.imdb.com/chart/top) and Bottom 100 (http://www.imdb.com/chart/bottom) for ideas.

Don't feel bad for the guy. Save your pity for someone who doesn't bring it upon himself.

It would be one thing if he just made bad movies, yet was a nice guy. It's another thing to make bad movies, and be an asshole about it.

Do you think he'll challenge all those people to another boxing match? Or might he have something even more dreadful up his sleeve?

*shrugs*

Gotta feel a little bad for the guy, regardless of whether or not you like his movies. I'd like to see some of the posters here, not necessarily those in this thread, would handle a hostile crowd catcalling them. That is one of those things where you don't even know what it is really like until you are the subject of jeers like that.

I do not feel bad for the guy. He seems to get funds to make movies. So the laughs on us. IMO.

Hate to admit it but his craptacular work amuses me. I would never rent or go see his movies but their so hilariously bad that their funny. Good way to kill time when their on HBO or Cinemax. Maybe I have a sick sense of humor but he's there just to entertain. He'll never get the good scripts or good actors to be in his films. If you want a comparison, compare him to Brett Ratner. Their both hacks but Ratner has the pedigree of going to NYU and being friends with Spielberg and getting these good actors to be in his movies because they think he has connections. Not here to defend the guy but cut him some slack. Take his work for what it is, mind numbing entertainment or just a way to pass the time. He'll never win an Oscar. Doubt he'll even get good enough to win a Razzy LOL

Ben Kingsley (bloodrayne)
Michael Madsen (bloodrayne)
Seymour Cassel (postal)

and to lesser extents Michelle Rodriguez, stephen dorff (Aitd), and Billy zane (Bloodrayne)

the new dungeon siege movie has:

Jason Statham
John Rhys Davies
Ray Liotta
Ron Perlman

Along with other notable actors, I'd say he's worked with some good ones, and some great (Kingsley).

The guy was attempting to turn The World Trade Centers into a Joke, I have no respect for him. I love Postal 2, but this guy will get no money from me. I didn't even watch 3 minutes of it.

There are some "names" that appeared on it but wither they were past their prime or uninterested. It was funny watching Ben Kingsley act so bored which I doubt was an act. The writing was horrible. Some of these actors/actresses have seen better days but I guess they line up to get paid. Do the work and then go home, you can see they have no passion. It's like they know its easy money and the quicker it's over with the quicker they can get back to enjoy some down time. As for the new Dungeon Siege movie, can already (predictably) spot what characters they will play. Ray Liotta will play crazy guy, Jason Statham will play the loose cannon who is tough and sensitive and Ron Perlman will play a tough guy who just snarls alot and tries to look menacing. LOL

I believe Ray Liotta will play a wizard or something...I do know he is the bad guy. I think Burt Reynolds is in there too.

I'm not sure why I retained this information. :-/

I only checked out a minute or so of the clip, but why are people boo'ing him and leaving? Did he say something that offended the crowd or something?
