I couldn't find any post on the board about it, and wasn't sure if I should put it here or ebay insanity, but it looks like another one just traded hands (pretty cheap):

Yea, it is a "decent price" considering the rarity of the cart...yet it is still too rich for my blood, I am still hoping to find one in the wild for $.99!!! :D

that cartridge is way overpriced. no one holds on to them, they seem to be up for sale at least once a year.
6500 was a bad joke... 3700 seems high.
i wouldnt be surprised if there are more than 26 of those out there.
It's my opinion that there are *at least* a couple hundred gray ones, and not 116, or 90, or whatever number people seem to agree on.

Although I have heard the "26" number from many different people, who knows if that number is just the number that Nintendo released to the public.
I actually believe that only 26 were handed out to contestants. But to make only the EXACT number as there are winners? Come on - even common sense would dictate that some extras would have to have been made, just in case something bad happened.
And what about Nintendo staff or special guests of the Championships. Souveniers or gifts for high level execs??
I think that I am with Willie on this one. I wouldn't say that there are more than 50 though.
The money part of the argument though - I don't think that has much to do with it. If I was desperate for cash, or just didn't care about owning the cart - cha-ching!
Finally, everyone remember one thing about this particular cart. This is the guy who found the cart at a thrift for $5 (or $2, I can't remember.) He clearly said that he was going to put it up on eBay, but he wasn't sure when, or for how much. Check the thread here that has to do with the "Rarest single game you own" - or something like that.
Well, now we know? I must say that it looks sharp, and the Guide is a nice touch.
