Today every young gamer wants to get their parents to purchase an XBOX 360 for them. They see the commercials on tv and Tech tv says the 360 is one of the greatest gaming systems ever....

Let's step back in time and pretend like we never had tv.

All these kids still have friends with the 360 and they want to play it at home, so they tell their parents to buy one for them.

The problem with this is the parents are going to game stores that have no idea behind modern consoles and the abilities they contain.

The child that gets their parent to purchase the system for them is lucky for awhile...but the parents?

The parents have no idea that the system is meant to be hooked up to the internet and become frustrated by the fact that now they have to purchase extra peripherals for the system to be enjoyed...

The parents fork over the money and then the system dies.

Microsoft has taken every step to make sure that they make money on every item out for the 360...even the guitar hero guitar cant be wireless because microsoft doesnt wanna let out their secrets and lose money?

Well even though they keep most the profit to themselves, the system is not lasting long enough to make the parents feel like they got their money worth.

IF YOU ARE AN ADULT GAMER AND YOU BOUGHT THE 360 FOR YOURSELF.....SHAME ON YOU!!!!!

Not only are the systems dead on arrival to most homes (never before seen except for the atari 5200?) now they are sending out new power cords for the much over priced wireless racing wheel they sell?

if you own a wireless racing wheel you should be advised to use batteries and call microsoft for a replacement power cord.

THIS POWER CORD CAN BURN DOWN YOUR HOME unless you are one of the lucky ones that still lives at home with your mom and lives in the basement.

THEN YOU WOULD BE BURNING DOWN YOUR MOMMA's HOUSE!!!!!!

STAY AWAY FROM THE XBOX 360...

it doesnt play your old games anyways

These statements can't exist at the same time, well at least not in a good argument. If the only reason people want them is because they see the commercials then if we took away TV none of his friends would have them either.

Yes and???? welcome to the real world. This is the same way that the legal system works. Ignorence is not an excuse. Also if the system dies you just send it in to MS, they've given us 3 F'n years for RLD

Holy SHIT Man MS you assholes how dare you bastards want to make money.... fuckers

IF YOU ARE AN ADULT GAMER AND YOU BOUGHT THE 360 FOR YOURSELF.....SHAME ON YOU!!!!!

Maybe it was the ads on TV that did it.... hey wait I see PS3 ads too and I don't own one of those... does that mean it's not cause and effect?????

LMAO I can't even come up with anything better than what you said to make you look like a dumbass.:duh:

I'm guessing momma didn't buy someone a 360 for their birthday huh? Your post was absurd.... Get some facts, a life, and a 360.

I feel much shame for not devoting my entire life to a single console - shunning all others.

I *gasp* bought an Xbox 360, Wii and a PS3.

I enjoy the exclusive titles for each one.

I can see the pros and cons of each console without having them thrown in my face by people that, for some reason, feel the need to slam the console(s) they decided not to buy.

But thanks for the consumer report anyways, well respected anonymous new poster.

Yeah. Be sure to use Sony brand batteries. They never catch fire.

Actually I'm a Nintendo fan boy. At least get your facts straight. But I do own an Xbox and an Xbox 360. And contrary to your belief, my 360 plays a majority of my Xbox 1 games. I'm 30 years old, I play games for every system, and I'm proud of it. I bought my Xbox 360 on December 31, 2005 and haven't had any problems with it. (Knock wood) But if I do get the overhyped RROD, I'm covered. So who cares? I've already got my money's worth out of the machine from the fun I've had with it anyway. Another question for you genius: If we didn't have TV, as in your brilliant example, then what the hell would we play our 360's on? Also, how do you figure that most systems are DOA? Granted, there is a higher than average hardware failure rate. But most that fail are not DOA and you don't hear about the number of consoles that nothing is wrong with because people don't bitch when there's nothing to bitch about. I don't want to give you the impression that we're all a bunch of hardasses on this board, but don't make your first post a bunch of lame made up bullshit that you can't possibly back up. And with that said, welcome to DP.

As mentioned above, the power cord issues were with the first Xbox, not the Xbox 360, and there was a recall of those faulty power supplies.

Actually, the headline and power supply comment are true.

Ahhh, so Microsoft didn't learn from the power supply issues from the first Xbox? Meh.

I'm just glad someone made computer monitors before tv... or else we wouldn't be able to absorb this information.

So we're not supposed to listen to commercials, but we need to listen to him and be ashamed of our consoles of choice?

Check and check.
