Things in real life that remind you of video games?

I'm a cashier, and today for some reason when I was dropping change into people's hands, all I could think about was Kaboom! and sometimes my hand would go left and right a little and they'd drop a coin (presumably losing one of their buckets)

Does this happen to anyone else or am I just crazy?

sometimes when i'm double-stepping up stairs i think of mario in smb1 hopping up the block "stairs".

Well occassionally I'll see a upper price tagged car sitting by itself (until I pull up of course) at a gas station, and I have to fight the urge to want to destroy it by kicking it and hitting it with a lead pipe... ala Final Fight bonus stage. "Ohhhh... My God!"

When I used to play WoW, and that was quite a bit, I would constantly open and close the in game map by hitting the M key, to make sure I was on course, but also just to have something to look at on monotonous horse rides. It got to a point where I would look to open the map while walking or driving in real life, only to be confused by the lack of an M key.

I've been playing Burnout 3 lately, so any time I see a tanker truck I seriously consider slamming my car into it.

When in the midst of some PC game with a quick-save button I also happened to be building something around the house... every time I'd go to drill a hole or make a cut, I'd try to do a quick-save, then lament the fact that real life does not come with such a feature.

A couple instances for me...

When watching a football game on tv and thinking that if I were in control I would have juked him with the R button and gained 15 extra yards.

When organizing overstock in my Staples store, I explained to my manager that the best way to do the organizing of the boxes would be like a game of Tetris.

My wife and I ate some of our leftover wedding cake, and I took a picture of the cake, which was missing a slice, because it looked like Pac Man.

When being cut off by someone on a highway I have very often wished I had a supply of red turtle shells or banana peels to toss in front of the other driver.

When the wife and I drive to Missouri to visit my parents, we see these tall and wide electrical towers that stretch across the country. Some of them remind me of the aliens from Space Invaders.

I saw a kid with a yo-yo, he looked like Mikey in the Goonies II game.

I"m always playing Tetris in my head when I look at patterns in the ceiling or walls/floors.

After playing GTA III I used to size up all the vehicles and imagine what they would drive like in the game.

I drove upon a field with wildflowers growing in it and for a split second I thought about improving my herbalism.

Whenever my friends radar detector goes off it sounds like we just gained a level.

Whenever I pass by a boy doll I point at it and go "OOh a free life!"

Whenever I see like a sword or a dagger or some other weapon somewhere I make up stats for it.

I say "boing" when I jump.

Two guys I know got into a fight and I started humming music from Punch Out!!

I pass this neverending building site almost every day, and I see the bricks on a pallett, I think 'Give me a ladder and I whip you up a house like in Master Builder'

Whenever I really get into a music game, be it DDR, Beatmania, Pop'n Music, Guitar Hero, Drummania, I visualize notecharts as I listen to music. "Man this song would be great in Pop'n...."

Ditto on the THPS levels, too.

I think about boxers I want in Fight Night, too. I love Knockout Kings 2001 just because you can recreate Hagler/Hearns.

Every time I see Reces Pieces (the Smarties looking ones), all I think about is the floor inside the Volcano in Lava Land in Super Mario 64.
And then I think about how good it is to eat Reces Pieces.

ok for me every time i hear the Rush song with the de do do do de do do do and talking about invaders from space i think of the futurama where in one of the episodes they did a what if life was more like a video games and fry is fighting off the space invaders while listing to the song....

then THAT reminds me of space invaders, pac man, mrs. pack man, donky kong, nintendo 64, missle command....some others

Once when I was in New York for the weekend I saw a bicycle courier going down the center of the street. He blatanly pulled out infront of a taxi (taxi wasn't going very fast) and the courier flips off the taxi driver and bunny hopped onto the sidewalk. Needless to say when I returned home Courier Crisis was calling my name.
