Can anyone say if Panzer General for the Playstation is any good? Or if it's got any collector's value? I recently found a pretty cheap copy and if it's either fun or worth anything I'm going to pick it up, however, I couldn't find any reviews anywhere for it. Thanks!

It's good if you like your strategy games to move at the pace of frozen molasses. Plenty of load time for animations and general downtime reduce the fun you will have with this title. I could only stand to play it for a couple of hours, so maybe someone who has put considerable time into the PSX version will tell me different.
As far as rarity goes, it's only rated as a R3 (borderline common/uncommon), and lists a price of $6 for a complete copy. Prices listed are to be used as a guideline only, and may not be accurate of what a title will fetch on ebay. Since you are new around here, I'm not sure that anyone has told you that you can always check the Online Rarity Guide by accessing the main DP page (located at digitpress.com). In the left frame you will find a link logically titled "Online Rarity Guide". Check rarities for nearly all systems excluding the newest ones.

Ah. Duh. Sorry about that. I guess that nice big link on the left side of my screen should have caught my attention sooner. Ah well the game will probably only cost me around a dollar so I'll give it a try.

Ugh, that's too bad that the port is so bleh. One of the great things about the PC version when it rolled out was that it had a much quicker pace and gentler learning curve than typical strategy games of the time. I dumped a hell of a lot of time into Panzer General I and II and loved 'em to death. Shame the PS1 port didn't do the series justice :(
