Anybody use the gamers savings club at circuit city? If so how is it?. I saw an ad in the weekly paper for it and thought I would see if it was good before spending 20 dollars on it.

You would have to buy $200 of games just to get your subscription price back! If however, you spend more than that at Circuit City on games (I do not), go for it!
Its that simple.
Keep in mind, that I doubt they give you the 10% off if they have to "price match" a particular game.
If you buy lots of games at Circuit City, it can't be that bad! I buy my games at game stores, and buy bargain bin priced items at other stores, so for me, its definately not worth it!
Great marketing and business tool for the company, I may add!

You are getting a free subscription right now when you buy any console. So, if you're in the market for a console, make the purchase at CC and get the 10% club.

I got this when I bought my 360 Elite a few weeks ago. I haven't gotten my actual card yet, but I've used the coupons inside to save $5 on Metroid 3 and $6 on Moto GP 07. I buy usually around and game every week or so so I'll definitely make out pretty well with this card.

You got your money's worth then! I just hate those stupid MVP cards and other saver cards offered at major video game retailers. The only good thing is the magazine it comes with!

Normally I would say that its not worth it, but there are so many "must have" games coming out in the near future that it may just be worth it. I just bought Metroid Prime 3. I figure if I also buy Halo 3, Smash Bros, and one other game like Mario Galaxy or Bioshock, it will be worth it.
On the other hand though, it is usually possible to find games at least $5 off at other places without paying a fee. Can somebody tell me if they discontinued the Best Buy "Gamer's Gift Card" or not? Thanks.

Since when does Best Buy have this type of "club"? I know they have the rewards zone program, which works great for me!
And its free, by the way. It just rewards you when you shop!

Keep in mind that the 10% off is only on the full retail price. Example:
Stranglehold (360) is $47.99 this week at CC. You cannot use the 10% off card with this price (because it's a sale price). You could use it next week when the game goes back up to $59.99, therefore bringing the price down to $53.99.
Obviously, this card is for people who don't normally pick up games on release week or suckers with an extra $20 in their pocket. Take your pick.

You said it best! Same is true for the other type of gamers club cards as well!

Yeah, the only one I own is the EB GMR card, and that one gets plenty of use. I'm just glad the Circuit City guys don't try to force it on you like they do at EB, Gamestop & Gamecrazy. Oh my God, the Gamecrazy associate I dealt with the other night wasted 5 minutes just trying to figure out if my trade-in would qualify enough to help me purchase the card along with the copy of Wild Arms 5 I was trying to buy, and of course, it didn't. I was so pissed.
My bad...didn't mean to turn this into a Gamecrazy diss thread.

The Best Buy "Gamers Gift Card" was a normal gift card that also included a $5 off coupon for games, at no extra charge. I am pretty sure it doesn't exist anymore, making this the only reliable way I know off to always get some sort of a discount.
