I just got Kakuto Chojin in the mail today and i was researching it and wikipedia said that it was pulled from shelves in 2001 or 2002 and released again in 2004. My copy says Microsoft corporation 2002 and the back where it says Players 1-4 and Arcade Stick that looks like the old kind of writing like when the xbox first came out. Is this copy the rare one and how much value is it? Or does it have any?

There was only one run of the game. MS never actually 'fixed' it as that Wiki article claimed. The game isn't worth jack squat and it doesn't help that the game sucks to boot.

If I remember right, it was pulled because of a character or an act in the game was offensive to some people. I believe that they were planning on re-releasing it, but with the low sales of the game, it was just pulled and scrapped. Not too long ago, there was a DP member that bought a huge lot of them sealed and sold them here on DP. They were 5 dollars shipped, if that may give you an inclination of the value of them.

I believe the offense was that some passages from the Koran were being sung in the background during a particular portion of the game.

If you paid more than $5 for the game, you probably paid too much.

BINGO.... that was the problem with the game... the chant, was the issue, and obtw, the game was very good, if anyone played it through, it was a fun and pretty fighter.

I saw some neat combo videos for it, but from what I understand the game is ultra-super-mega picky about frame-specific button presses and such, making the learning curve way too steep for most people.

hmmm.... perhaps this is why the islamic chant from Ocarina of Time (Fire Temple) is absent from the gamecube versions?

I have the game, and I have played the game. The game has some cool modes in it, and is not half that bad. As for a game that came out at $50, I would think otherwise. Price means everything.
