Game Boy Color low volume from speaker

Got a couple of green game boy color systems that have really weak speaker volume. ie: Unless you turn it to full and you won't hear a thing and at full you hear faintly the Gameboy chime when you power it on.

Plugging in a headphone works fine though.

I opened it up and have a good spritz to the variable pot on the volume control but I don't think that is the cause.

Any clues ?

Every time I've seen this, the speaker was blown. New speaker, problem solved.

I cannot remember the last time someone submitted a GameBoy colour for repair.

Great... is there a specific part name for the speaker ? I think it is just any pizeo of the same size should work ?
