Makes sense that they'd remove him since he's not playing and all. The following line really got me, though:
"With his speed and arm strength, mixed in with a slew of tall WR's, the Falcons have been the most dominating Madden team in the game over the past five years. Three of the past four Madden Challenge National Champions have used the Falcons to take the crown."
..thank god there might actually be some diversity now.

Not only that. Thank god there actually may be a team worthy of going the distance. The Falcons were in how many Super bowls lately with the "multi-talented" Vick? Oh, that's right... NONE. If he was half the defense killer that he was coach killer & dog killer maybe, then just maybe the whole Madden domination would be conceivable.
Good riddance to bad rubbish. The whole excuse of "it's a cultural thing" is ridiculous!!! I think throughout history many killers might use that excuse...

Falcons have been a great Madden team for years, but never produce in real life.
I'm bummed that Vick is gone from the team in madden. 1 because the Falcons have been my team since the Deion Sanders days, and 2 because Vick was so fucking dominating, the falcons were all I've been using for the last 5 years. Now I have to seriously re-learn how to play video game football.

Of course it makes sense to remove Vick from the game since he isn't part of the roster anymore; but I really don't understand people who lament that the game changed because this guy isn't part of it anymore.
Who wants to play a game with the virtual character based on a real-life dog torturer and dog killer? Playing games with him, cheering, and identify with a sadist when he throws a great pass?
What Michael Vick did cannot be explained by 'cultural differences of the south' as wannabe-smart Whoopie Goldberg emphasized sitting around a table with three other women who felt uncomfortable but unfortunately kept their mouth shut during Goldberg's dumbness tirade.
As disgusting and appauling dogfighting is, Vick did even more. He watched eight dogs being electrocuted, hanged with ropes around their necks, suffocated for about eight minutes. Three of the dogs weren't dead after this incredibly cruel way of killing animals; they were drowned while our football hero watched the amusing scene.
If someone gets involved in animal torture like this without turning his head and being disgusted by it, there is something wrong in his head. It is sadism, plain and simple. If someone stands there and watches a scene like this he gets a kick out of it; and he did it for years.
I heavily doubt that sadism and animal torture is part of the Southern culture of America, nor can it be compared to some Chinese regions 'eating cats.' (Goldberg again)
This guy is disgusting. I cannot even remotely imagine how human beings can do this to animals. I grew up with dogs, and now I have four cats. My stomach turns around just thinking about it what this guy did to innocent animals.
Vick doesn't belong in a game, and he doesn't belong on a football field in real life. I have high hopes that the latter won't take place anymore because the majority of football fans are loving pet owners and not sadists; the latter category is (thank goodness) a small minority in (unfortunately) every country.

Would Michael Vick be called "dominating" in the Madden games because his stats/performance are that good or just because he is a different type of player than most of the others in the game? Stupid question, I know, but here is why I ask it.
I normally use my hometown team in the Madden (or 2K games) so I almost always play Madden with a Patriots team sporting Drew Bledsoe or Tom Brady at QB. So I never played a video game with Michael Vick under center. So is Vick really that good, in the Madden games, or does it depend on the style of the player who uses him? I like using a video game quarterback who is a pocket passer, just drop back and throw. Shotgun formation with a lot of deep throws and very little scrambling. Since that is my style, how would using someone like Michael Vick help me?

Michael Vick and the Falcons have always been a solid rated team in Madden. Their wide outs have been good enough to catch good passes, and Vick has always been able to keep up with most good QB's in Madden. The thing that Vick possesses in Madden is his ability to get a first down when there's no one open for the pass. Whether you cut through a hole in the middle or just gun it to the outside and run for that yellow line, it is very rare that anyone on the defensive line will ever catch him when you've got that speed boost button held down. He is extremely explosive and constantly gets more rushing yards than the Falcons' running backs in the last few Madden (and NFL 2k) football games.

Stranger things have happened. Back during 9-11, not only did Microsoft pull it's Flight Similator series from store shelves to edit out the World Trade Center's twin towers, they also said that they would remove them from the previous years version if customers who had bought the game (the year before) sent them in.

Vick is good because of his speed. It is seriously annoying to play someone that can avoid every sack by running BACKWARDS 10-15 yards and then throw the ball halfway down the field for a completion. I've seen players crisscross him sideline to sideline several times to wait for a man to get open. About the only way to sack him is to put your fastest linebackers on the field and blitz two or three of them at once and hope that one of them can catch him. I say good ridance to M. Vick.

I guess the thing that would have possibly shut Whoopie Goldberg up, if such a thing is possible, would have been for one of the other women to reply that people in the south should still be able to own slaves since it was part of their culture. If they didn't want to go that far, they could throw in any Confederate flag reference.

Is EA recalling these and releasing another batch? What of the people that had already bought the game? How would EA stop them from playing with Vick if the other player over the net doesn't have the game with Vick? Would they also disable him in the first run of games when you go online to play? I guess the first run of Madden'08 has just gone up in price :)
