So I was out shopping with the girlfriend yesterday when I came across a new (I assume so, it was at Sears) Metroid Prime GameCube. I was wondering if they were actually worth anything or if there was no point in going back for it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If it was discounted, it may be worth getting for yourself. As for resale potential, I believe it would have very little.

The full backwards compatibility of the Wii, and the Wii's superior function with 480p and HDTV's makes the Wii a NGC killer, like the PS2 was a PS1 killer.

I didn't think it was but I thought I'd ask. Thank you for that.
So then I guess my only other thing is: If anyone who collects systems (I don't unless I plan on using it) wants that gamecube, let me know. I'd be happy to pick it up for you and we can work something out.

True, but the Gameboy Player alone should still keep it on any hobbyist's list, until they have a better way to play GBA games directly on TV that is.

Don't be a heel and mention emulation either, we're talking about hobbyist's here who want the real deal. :p

The cube itself is nothing special. It's just the platinum siver cube (and one without the Component jack to boot) making it just another gamecube, all be it one that came with Metroid Prime. The coolness of the box isn't even the box itself, its just slip cover that goes over the primary Cube box. If you don't have a cube and its a good price, snag it, if not and you have little care about gamecube playing, leave it there for someone else who does want it.

I bought one too at Sears a few months back! Sold it on eBay for around $120. Nothing special, but I only paid $80 for it, due to the discount, and because LOL, I had a coupon!
