View Full Version : Partially sealed Metal Gear (NES) - value?

My wife and I stopped at a VV this afternoon, and I happened to stumble across an NES Metal Gear, still in the shrink wrap for $4.99. Unfortunately it's open at the very top, and the wrap is torn appx. an inch on the back side. Looks like it was "unsealed" fairly recently, since the top of the box is still bright / clean. The game is still packaged in the plastic (interior) baggy, and I was able to verify that all manuals, map, inserts are there, and appear to be mint (I'm pretty certain they were never taken out of the box). There is, however, a VV sticker on the front of the wrap. My question is: what would the value be for something like this? Just the same as a mint complete (but opened) copy? Thanks in advance for any help.

I'd definitely consider that a mint complete copy.

Same as a mint complete open copy. The factory sealed collectors (such as myself) don't care if it was opened yesterday or 10 years ago. It is open or not. Still worth something as it is in nice shape.

Thanks all. Not being a sealed game collector, I appreciate the insights. Thanks again! :)
