How many versions of the Genesis 1 ?

How many different variations of the Genesis 1 were made. I know of three: The one that says "high definition graphics"....the one that does not have that logo...and the altered beast version that will play the zany golf. etc.
I need to complete my collection, but I am stumped as to whether there are other versions. Thanks!

the high definition graphics is the altered beast version.

then there are two versions of the high definition version....the one that came with altered beast and then followed by the rewired version that will not accept the "four altered beast carts". Zany Golf, ishido, etc will only play on the unit that was actually came with altered beast.
Is there a way to tell the difference without acually hoking one up to see if Zany Golf will load?
And are these the only two cosmetic variations. It seems to me that there were a couple more versions where the logo change color and font. Anybody have a for sure answer?

Depends how closely you're looking - early units have the 9-pin EXT port on the back which was removed at some point, and one of the other ports on the back was moved at some point over it's lifespan.
And there's at least half a dozen board revisions too...
