Well, my favorite series is Dynamite Deka which spreads over the arcade, Saturn and Dreamcast. I recently aquired Die Hard Arcade (first Dynamite Deka) and besides so many loading cut-scenes it's really nice.

Power Rangers: The Movie for the SNES was surprisingly fun, and fairy difficult. Great with a buddy.

Bloody Wolf isn't a beat 'em up, it plays more like Jackle or Heavy Barrel than something like Final Fight (and yes, Bloody Wolf's a good game). That said, I personally suggest Ninja Warriors, Streets of Rage 2, Double Dragon 2, and Alien vs Predator.

love this genre! Can't really think of one that hasn't been mentioned. guardian heroes is my most recent and was excellent. Neo geo had great beat em ups with nice big sprites and proper joysticks. Double dragon games are great. Battletoads.
bloody wolf while not a beat em up is excellent :)
and I've been wanting to play crows the battle action for saturn

The arcade Punisher and X-Men side-scrolling brawlers were excellent. Streets of Rage 2 and 3 are awesome as well, and I'd wholeheartedly recommend the fairly recent Red Star for the PS2 (more a shooter/brawler; kinda like a combination of Loaded and a standard brawler, but really good).

I really liked Three Dirty Dwarves. It's a pretty different take on beat 'em ups.

TMNT hyperstone heist for genesis
Save your money and just get "Turtles in Time" instead.
And more recent efforts I'd add "Gauntlet Legends/Dark Legacy". Sure it's got leveling up and magic, but you get to beat up seemingly endless goons and fight bad bosses. And isn't that the appeal of a beat em up?

By the way, we've done this a few times already too.

I've always liked Zombies Revenge DC and thought it was woefully underated and overlooked.

Don't mean to sound dumb, but why's Hyperstone expensive?

I'm not sure.
To me "Hyperstone" comes off like a watered down port of "Turtles in Time"....which is why I hardly play "Hyperstone".
