2 more days.
Who's picking this game up? I've played the 30-minute demo at least once every day since the 4th. I've been waiting for this game since I played Skate Or Die on the NES.

I thought it comes out today? I'm getting it day one. I've been playing the demo of Skate more than any other game I own. I get the same feeling with Skate that I had when I played the first Tony Hawk demo for PS1 way back.I lost interest after TH3, but this has revived my love for the genre.
I was/am a huge fan of Thrasher:Skate and Destroy for the playstation, and Skate seems to be like that with better graphics and a truly awesome control sceam.
Skate is the closes thing to real skating I have ever experienced.I'm also glad that they didn't name Skate, "Sk8" :)

I was a huge Tony Hawk fan through the first 4 games in the series. After that I just got bored. I was mildly intrigued by skate when I first saw it, but wrote it off due to my sickness of TH. But I figured I would try the demo anyway...and I love the game. It is completely different than TH...more realistic and a nice breath of fresh air for skateboarding games. The game is just pure fun and you really feel a sense of accomplishment when you pull off a cool trick.
Definitely picking this one up day one.

I played the demo and it reminds me of THPS2 put with less tricks and shitty controls.

Rarly do I ever run out an buy a new videogame on day one, but when I do there is always a problem with shipments or somthing else. Man I tell you.....4 stores and no Skate yet. I swear if it was a new Madden game I would have no trouble. This always happens to me on the games I want :(

Same here. Wal-Mart told me "if it's not a high-profile release we won't have it for a couple of days" and Game Crazy told me "we only have preorder copies"
Uggh. Why do I buy games at walk-in stores again? Now EA Sports titles are low-profile preorder-only games?

I have now played both demos, THPG is just another TH, skate on the other hand feels like a winner.

Yeah, skate plays alot better then THPG. At least in demo form it does. Maybe its because skate feels fresh and TH is more of the same.

Which honestly is enough at this point. TH was fun on the Dreamcast, not so much now.

I got it!!!Finally, man this game ROCKS! Online is so much fun, my favorite online thing to do is "own the spot", that's where each person takes turns in a certain part in a level, whoever gets the most points in 15seconds wins that round. Hours are going by like minutes with Skate. Love it!

Gamestop. The had 8 preorders and 9 copies. I didn't preorder it but I got the extra one.

Played the game for like 5 hours last night. Enough said.
If you have any interest in Skateboarding games, especially if your bored with Tony Hawk...buy this game now!

Man, finally found it. Played it for 2 hours so far, and it's as good as I expected.
I'll probably bring it online later tonight or tomorrow.

Just downloaded and played the Tony Hawk Proving Ground demo....I sure hope Skate is better than it cause THPG feels like a rehashed Tony Hawk game with stupid GTA elements thrown in that make it laughable.
Does Skate have more of a next gen feel?

Hell yes it does. Everything is done with the two analog sticks.
To ollie, you pull the stick back and flick it forward.
To kickflip & heelflip you pull back and flick slightly to the left or right.
To manual you kinda balance the stick halfway between neutral and forward or back.
To grind, you just ollie onto a rail or ledge, how you land determines the grind you perform.
So yeah, it's what next-gen Tony Hawk should have been. Get the demo to try out the control scheme before you drop the 60 bucks.

I can't get mine to work either. Odd, it worked fine when I posted it, now it's just redirecting to a login screen.
Very nice footage, especially that opening launch. Maybe it's because I played the demo so much, but even in the full game I find myself hanging around that skatepark a lot.

I had something even more epic planned on that spot and actually pulled it off 3 times (out of 50 tries LOL)...but unfortunately it was too high up and there was no way to successfully land the fall afterwards. So I just went with my second option and am pretty happy with it.

I'm sure you can guess my main problem with the clip. You lost it right near the end. It would have been a sweet line apart from that. I do wish you'd used a different camera angle too.

I still haven't perfected doing flips. Once I finish Eternal Sonata and Halo expect me to be back playing skate and making more videos :D
