View Full Version : Will Microsoft continue making good RPG's for the 360?

I have been of the opinion for a long time that MS doesn't seem to give a crap about RPG's. The original Xbox had Fable and Morrowwind. That's it. Those are the only two of any consequence. By comparison you could build an entire LIBRARY of PS2 RPG's that are worth playing.

But so far the 360 has had Oblivion, Blue Dragon, and will soon enough have Eternal Sonata and Fable 2. That's twice as many good RPG's as the original Xbox and in only 1/3rd the time. Now I'm not saying they'll challenge Sony's complete dominance of the RPG market but does anyone else think MS might continue to plop out 2-3 GOOD RPG's a year for the next few years?

Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part?

I wasn't aware that Microsoft made Morrowind or Oblivion. or Blue Dragon. or Eternal Sonata. or a lot of other games, actually.

Yeah! Those Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic games sure sucked ass. And don't get me started on Jade Empire. All of those games were of no consequence.

There's also Enchanted Arms, which is very decent. How many English language RPG's are on the PS3 right now?

Since when can Microsoft make a good RPG....

I am being serious?

All the development on their RPG titles, at least, are outsourced!

2, both ports of XBOX 360 games - Enchanted Arms and Oblivion.

Microsoft finally got a clue a few years ago and decided that if they ever have a chance of success in Japan, they'll have to make traditional JRPG's. I'm sure they'll continue to release quite a few before the end of the 360's life.

PS3 will still dominate the JRPG genre this generation though. That's a no-brainer. I'm sure we'll even see a few on the Wii.
