A friend of mine has a nice collection of castlevania items and we're wondering whats the going value on a few of em:

sealed original sotn (don't believe its the one with the artbook?)
sealed gh sotn
sealed chronicles
majesco cv4 sealed
majesco bloodlines sealed
castlevania 2 and 3 boxed but not sealed
all 3 gba games not sealed but complete
both ds games not sealed
n64 both games complete

I need Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness for the N64. Somewhere around $25 for a CIB copy I'd say.
If he's looking to sell it, it's one of the last 20 games I need to complete my N64 collection.

he's looking to sell most of his gaming stuff, I'll let him know someone is interested in that one (we're just trying to figure out fair prices for everything first)

I'll take the original sealed SOTN :)

Original SOTN factory sealed in nice shape (no cracks, tears in plastic etc) is pretty expensive. Between $200 and $300, probably closer to $300 on a good day.

Sealed GH SOTN is around $65-$70.

Sealed Chronicles is around $50-$60

Sealed majesco CV 4 is very hard to predict. I have seen them go as low as $40 and then above $100. Depends on the buyer and the day and how much research they put into what they are bidding on.

Sealed Bloodlines is around $25 or so max. Pretty common sealed title.

Try 70-100. The price of these has jumped recently. Used copies are going for 30-50 currently.

Where do you get the $70 to $100 from? There are only 2 new ones in completed items and both went under $60....

Actually, the soft cover box ones are the common ones sealed, but the sealed hard case ones are very rare. I got lucky when I got mine for $60 but they never go for that cheap anymore. They fetch $80-100 easily.

Yeah, it's the new trend: people tend to think that everything labeled as "Castlevania" is worth hundreds of bucks. Sealed GH SotN used to go for less than 25$ last year and before. Go figure.

Put me on the list for Chronicles, we never know.

Thanks!

You are correct about the different bloodlines, but he said his was the majesco one. The majesco release is the cheap one, did not see a reason to explain the difference in value (same goes for the SNES release of CV IV, majesco release is cheap while original is not).

are you talking about that one? that is the original version, not the re-release. Has not sold, though. Not sure it will at that price. It is a little high for the original version.

if you saw a majesco release go for $90, can I have the link? I am amazed someone overpaid that much. There is one up for $40 right now that has been sitting for a LONG time.

yep, that's the one..

Good point. I was wondering what the Majesco distinction was. I assume it's the same thing for the Contra: Hard Corps two versions too.

I agree with luxkiller, majority of the ebay auctions have the word rare somewhere because obviously CV stuff is the rarest stuff ever to grace the earth.

I may be interested in all the 3 GBA games, don't know at what price though. HoD is the rarest one of the bundle. I've seen it go factory sealed for as low as 2$ and seen the cart itself go for around 30$ though. I guess it depends on the buyer. I could get both AoS and Hod for around 5$ each in FS condition but I'd rather buy when I don't have to actually bid on it. Stupid last-minute outbidders.

No offense, but how many factory sealed authentic official US release GBA castlevania aria's or HOD's (or COTM) can you get for $5? There is no chance of that happenning. One just ended at $50 or so, in fact.

Just a few weeks ago I was outbid on FS PAL version of HoD, same with AoS. I don't remember the seller but they were selling off some of the older games, no reserve, inventory cleansing or something. Some versions of HoD and AoS in their store got bidded for more, some for less. I can't for the life of me figure how they could sell the games with no reserve for so cheap, 5 dollars+sh. Total was around 12 dollars I think. It was insane, but the games were authentic. I'm really skeptical about these things, they had lots of good feedback and only a few negatives.

I don't know if the US versions are more limited in release. You can find PAL versions pretty cheaply over on ebay england. Maybe it's the price drop, games like SotN limited edition go for pretty cheap these days. Especially the JPN versions, for 60e or so. You can get a PAL symphony for 130e or less nowdays.

Oh and just to say, I don't really like buying FS games for outrageously cheap prices. I just decided to bid at that time for fun.
