Well, it looks like if Ikaruga sells well, we might actually see Radiant Silvergun in HD on the 360. Talk about incredible -- who ever thought this was even possible?

and isn't radiant silvergun supposed to be a better game? I've never played it but from what I've heard its one of the better shmups. So if Ikaruga didn't sell as well, what would be so bad about trying to sell an even better game? hmmm, maybe I just have different views than them.
(OO) That would be huge. More reasons to love the 360 right now.

They better not make the US XBLA version based on the dumbed-down US arcade version.

IMO Ikaruga is the better title. Radiant Silvergun is a good shooter, but not ZOMG the best ever.
Radiant Silvergun totally measures up to the hype. Even if you don't like the game it def. stands out when compared to other J-Shooters.
In certain ways I'm happy that stuff like this is coming out to the widest audience possible. At the same time I can't help but feel a little pissed off. Back in the day it took a dedicated hardcore gamer to pick up RS or Rondo of Blood, now it's easy. Kind of sucks but that's progress for ya!
When are we going to get Model 2 games on Live Sega?

I traded mine a few months ago because I figured this was coming. I kind of doubt it will top the Saturn version though. We'll see.
When I first played Ikaruga I thought it was somewhat of a disappointment compared to RS. The game has grown on me (it helped that it came out for the Gamecube), but I still don't feel it's in the same league as RS.

In arcade mode, I'd take Ikaruga over Radiant Silvergun any day of the week. RS' scoring/chaining system is a bitch and the game is too god damn hard (even compared to Ikaruga).
If Saturn mode were included for Radiant Silvergun, then it'd be far, far, far, far more fun than Ikaruga (by a god damn mile). In Saturn Mode, you can save your weapon leveling progress between plays, so even if you suck at the game you can have a pretty fun time leveling up and blowing the shit out of everything. It's an awesome way to balance the game (moreso than time-unlocked credits) and does wonders for helping get you addicted.
Saturn Mode fucking rocked.

More importantly, it's nice that someone reminded the rest of the gaming world that Treasure still exists... I hadn't heard anything from them in a while...
This is why I'm excited about Xbox Live and PSN. I don't care if my copy of Radiant Silvergun is worth less; I'll be too excited that new people can experience the game for themselves.
Ikaruga is definitely the way to start; it's the prettier of the two, and more forgiving.
.....Gunstar Heroes....? Mmm?
G-Boobie, out.

Yeah, it totally sucks that more people are getting a chance to play great games.

Even if it does get a 360 release, I'm considering getting it for the Saturn. I think it would still be a cool conversation piece, at least.
Ah, hell, who am I kidding? I'm cheap. But I'd still like another reason to use my Saturn.

good stuff! Based partly on this (and my desire for another expensive game) I sold my RS this week before prices drop or anything. Still have a copy of ikaruga though and can't wait for a live version of it or RS I'll buy both hell just for online play!

Just to bump an old thread: 360 Live Arcade version of Ikaruga is coming soon! I played a demo of it today outside Messe Sanno -

Sorry for the poor quality cell phone picture. Messe Sanno had a display set up for this weekend only with the Ikaruga demo. Anybody could come up and play. I took a spin for a few minutes, but didn't get a chance to check out any different modes or anything. Seemed to be a quite popular demo kiosk as well.
Bodes well for other shooters coming out on Live, perhaps?

Isn't Treasure making a new version of Bangai-O for the DS??
I heard they were... And if this is true, I'm all over it.

You bet your ass they are.
I just hope it's not an unplayable mess (either because of shitty controls or because it's impossible to see anything on the screen).
