I won an auction for a splinter sell guide on ebay. the winning bid was two dollars and shipping was to be determined after the auction. The guy sends me an invoice for $10.80. If my math is right thats $8.80 to ship a game guide. When i sell on ebay i charge $6 for priority to ship a game. $4.50 to ship , fifty cent for the delivery confirmation and the extra dollar helps me recover some of my fees. I understand the pad on but this is ridiculous. What can i do

As you know, always ask about shipping before bidding. Never assume anything on ebay.

I am not sure what padding you are referring to. Most guides weigh around a pound before shipping materials. If he sends the guide priority it will cost 6.50 to 7.50. Add on delivery conformation and that may put the actual shipping over $8.00.

I would write a polite email asking what kind of shipping the 8.00 pays for, based on his completed listings I assume he will be shipping it priority. If thats true, you could try to explain that media mail is much cheaper and ask him to look into that option for you.

If he insists on priority, there is nothing really to argue about, you will just have to pay whats on the invoice.

You're pretty much stuck paying for it. it's not that high that complaining to eBay would accomplish anything.
