Oh yeah,

Looks like they are finally making a SNK Classics game for release in the US. It will be available for both the Wii and PS2.

Metal Slug 7 is in the works for the DS as well.

And finally Magician Lord is going to be available on the Wii Virtual Console!

Got to love SNK!

Any one know of any games I'm missing? If you do, please update the list! I have been importing a lot of SNK games lately, and can say that I am truly glad they are bringing some of them to the US as well!

SAMSHO ANTHOLOGY! THE OROCHI SAGA!

I just came. Hard. And I'd rather have Last Blade and KOF98, so I'll probably be a regular Cytheria if those come out.

The PS2 version is fairly scarce, but I keep seeing people who get the Wii version for some reason. I want to buy the PS2 version but finding a new copy is next to impossible. :(

I might be able to scare up some copies in my neck of the woods if you wouldn't mind paying retail. Going to do a little hunting on Sunday (also looking for that damned Thundercracker voyager class transformer :( )

Thank you, but no... Lots of stores sell the game online. I just don't want to pay full price. ;P

I don't have much money to spend now, anyway. I want this game because I want to support SNK-P, but I'm too cheap to buy it at full retail. ^^;

If you buy import games, Mark of the Wolves is fairly common and you can get it new for around close to $20 with only a $5 shipping fee from Play Asia!

Nah, I've realised it for awhile, I'm just too cheap to pay what everyone wants for them. Been looking around hoping to find one for 40$ or so, but I seems know one is letting them go that cheap :\

Hey, don't hate us late adopters!

I didn't purchase a PS2 until earlier this year. I could never raise enough money to get one. :) I loved the system, I just couldn't afford one!

No hate here! I have a very wealthy friend who is like that. I am frugal on everything but games.

He is always two generations behind! He just bought a PS for crying out loud and he is a serious collector!

I am a late adopter. The newest system I own is a Gamecube which I bought about 2 weeks ago but I still don't have any games for it. Before that the newest system I had was a Dreamcast which I bought back in 2002. I then bought Shenmue, Jet Grind Radio and other solid titles and I was in gaming heaven. So for about 5 1/2 years the newest system I owned was a Dreamcast.

I just bought games for my older systems and in the meantime picked up some systems I didn't have before like an SNES and Saturn and a bunch of games. I have also been thinking about picking up a N64 since I already own some great titles for it. I delayed my actions for some time in buying a N64 since I was looking for a transparent colored one with an expansion pack. I don't need the latest stuff to enjoy gaming. I mean, we're getting hard-ons by all of these classic collections which proves that we too don't need the latest and greatest hardware and games.

I also don't have a PS2 yet but with the announcement of Yakuza 2 in 2008, I don't have an excuse not to own one. I remember back in the summer of 2006 I was setting my sights on a slim PS2 because I was excited about Yakuza but I never got one. I still can't believe there hasn't been a price drop yet. It was $129.99 back in 2006 and in late-2007 it's still the same price.

It's clear that the PS2 is still sellling well that there's no need for a price drop from a business point of view. I waited this damn long so I'm waiting for a price drop or at least until they release a slim white PS2 that doesn't come with some karaoke game and mic like they're planning on releasing. I can always go the used option route and get a used one for like $70. Decisions, decisions.

Here are the SNK releases that excite me:

NeoGeo Battle Coliseum
The King of Fighters XI
Samurai Shodown Anthology

Say what you will about the S, the Playstation era is easily one of the best examples of our hobby. Being without a PS2 is simply masochistic.

God I love these compilations. More please!

I do like the compilation discs! Even the Sega Classics and Capcom Classics discs were good.

I believe it's worth owning a PS2 for those discs alone!

Any chance of a World Heroes collection making its way to the US sometime in 2008? It's coming to Japan on October 18, 2007 under the name World Heroes Gorgeous. Perhaps it will make its way to the US. World Heroes Perfect is such an underrated fighting game that I own for Sega Saturn. It was a Japanese only Saturn title. It wasn't arcade perfect since it didn't use any RAM expansion like some of the best 2D fighters for Saturn, but a still damn fine port. The characters from the Saturn version weren't as beefy as the arcade version. Hopefully we can all get the perfect arcade version. Here are the games from the collection: World Heroes, World Heroes 2, World Heroes Jet and World Heroes Perfect. Who would buy this collection if it came out in the US?

Agreed

Not to sound like a fanboy but I really dont see how ANY gamer with broad gaming interests can be without a PS2.

I would own a PS2 just for the Genesis collection ALONE hell if somebody had ever told me that someday I would have almost all of my favorite Genny games on ONE DISC I would have called them CRAZY!

Now on to the topic at hand I read at Gamespot and a couple other gaming sites that both the Samarai Shodown Anthology:hail: and the World Heroes Collection:cool: will be released for the PS2 in the U.S. there is some slight confusion on wich ones will be released for the Wii and PSP though.

Now if I could only find that damn copy of the Metal Slug Anthology the King of Fighters and Fatal Fury Anthologies in my area and snag the SSA when its released I can die happy.

Last I heard it had 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and Tenka. Sadly, not Special.

Of course, this was said last summer. They may have changed the lineup since.
