I'm not sure about that, but why not modify your American SNES to accept Super Famicom carts? All you have to do is snip the two tabs inside the cart port and you're done. If you take apart your system to do it (as I did with my model 2 SNES), you won't risk damaging the cart connector.

Or, if you have a Game Genie you can just break those tabs off and use it as a converter.

There's different sizes of PCB. But if it uses the same size PCB, then the mounts inside the cart will be in the same position.

Thanks but I already have the tabs off my us snes.

I'ts kind of like when the jap megadrive strider cover is good but the game has an annoying sound effect so you want the western cartridge and jap cover for the best of both worlds.

Oh i see so if its the same game it will be ok then i guess?

I was going to check myself earlier but i though it would save me by just asking on a forum.

-thanks

A few years ago, I bought a loose US Super Street Fighter II with the Japanese version on the inside.

Oh really!. Is their supposed to be any subtle differences between them versions?

The only difference I noticed was the standard name changes between Balrog, Vega, and M. Bison. Aside from that, the character profiles that pop up in attract mode were all Japanese. I returned the game the day after I bought it. I don't think that it was a factory error or anything like that because one of the cart's security screws was loose and had stripped the screwhole.

It's not a bad word when denoting regions. However USA - JPN - EUR are the conventional three letter abbreviations for game region.

jap

More like, it's a bad word to people of Japanese descent everywhere. It's unfortunate, but that's civility for ya.

You shouldn't say JAP at all. It's just like saying Chink to a Chinese or Nigger to a black guy. I'm sure they wouldn't like it or at least my friend from Ghana doesn't. I work with them and even married to a Japanese so I'm well aware of their feelings on the word Jap. JPN is the correct abbreviation for Japan.

Back on topic, yeah, bother the US and JPN SFC carts are the same in width but I'm not sure about height.

Sean Connery: I'll take Jap Anus Relations, for a thousand.
Alex Trebeck: That's Japan US Relations!

Just for kicks, I just switched the PCB boards from my US and Japanese Street Fighter II snes carts. Yes, the PCB board from the Japanese version will fit in you US cart.

Same thing happened to me. I traded the cart off some years ago. Wished I would have kept it. I was told maybe it could have been a preview or early review copy?
