Well, they did it... a 20% cut in the price of the Xbox, to 199euros (219 USD). It is the same price as the Gamecube now.

This is bad news for Nintendo who was just starting to gain some ground. But, let's hope that the price cuts come over here too. I'm still waiting on a Gamecube. I figure if I wait long enough, I'll just have to buy a GC game, and they'll throw in the system. :)

Never understood why europeans always get screwed with high prices... some kind of tax or import/export fee I imagine?

Because companies think (and do) they can get away with it...

Dunno where you get the "same price as GC from"... here in the UK the GC is still cheaper than that most places, even cheaper from Dixons/Argos if they ever have stock back in...

I don't live in Europe, and I can't tell you what each retailers selling it for. And the retailers can sell it at any price they want. But, when I said that it was the same price as the GC, I am talking Suggested Retail Prices, set from the manufacturer.

We get always screwed. Receive the games later, or not at all.
If Sega has always been so succesful in Europe, why didn't they sell the Dreamcast here for $50, what they did in the US some time ago?
