View Full Version : So, if you own multiple Xbox 360's, then a memory card is a must?

I recently got a second Xbox 360 via a trade. Of course, one of the first things I realized with having two Xbox 360's, is that each one requires their own saves. I don't really feel like swapping the hard drives all the time, so the best way for me to get my saved games on each 360 is via a memory card. The question is, will the 64mb memory card do the trick? Or would I need the 512mb one?

The 512mb one is pretty darned expensive. I'm sure I can find a used 64mb one for cheap somewhere, but is the 64mb one going to cut it? All I would need to do is transfer one saved game at a time via the 64mb memory card, so that I have both saves on each 360. I'm guessing that there aren't any saves bigger than 64mb, so I should be fine with one of those.....right? I guess the big advantage of the 512mb one, is that you can just keep a ton of saves on that card, and then just move it whichever 360 console you are using, load the profile from the memory card, and you're set. No need for copying the load or anything like that.

Hmmm.

My problem is the mess with live purchased games. If your internet is down they show up a trials.

i recently bought a 64mb card to transfer saves and profiles from one 360 to another... ill only need it till i get my new vga cable. so if you want it in a week or so, for what i got it for, its yours. i paid 15 bucks for it, its loose with a scuff or two, just saying.

you can check how much saves take up, just go into your memory -> hard drive settings. im pretty sure quite a few should fit on the card. microsoft designed the 360 for it to be very playable with a card without a HD.

I think I'm going to try to get a 512mb card. That way, it could hold the vast majority of all my saves, and I wouldn't even have to transfer them to the hard drive really, I could just use my memory card on whichever 360 I'm playing on. It would basically be a vagabond card, and would play musical chairs on my 360.

you cant have multiple saves, so youll be saving everything to your card only.

btw, when was the last time Sothy has posted ANYTHING constructive in the forums? i mean i enjoy his commentary as much as the next guy... but seriously.

some games dont let you make copies of the files, or they'll delete themself after you make the first copy. at least that's how the original xbox was.

Yeah, you know I was hoping that my games would follow my gamertag around. Buying games online that are stuck to one console is lame. I like Live alot, but this is a glaring weakness where they could have added some layer of portability.
