View Full Version : Aero Fighters on Ebay (Not Mine) A $1500 Game?

I had no idea that this game was worth so much. Some threads on here from a while back pointed out the huge price difference between the Rarity Guide Value and actual sale prices. It says 25 bucks, but it seems that it often sells for 50+ loose. How often is the guide updated (I'm a bit new here)?

http://cgi.ebay.com/AERO-FIGHTERS-SNES-SUPER-NINTENDO-FACTORY-SEALED-NEW_W0QQitemZ190156723352QQihZ009QQcategoryZ62053Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Auction says that the game is a "$1500 game" is this accurate? Where does the seller get this information from. Do many of you SNES collectors own this game? I searched completed listings on ebay but could only come up with one, a $200+ (sold) CIB game. Is this ebay bullshit, or a holy grail like he/she seems to think? Rarity aside... why wouldn't you want to buy the original coin-op, if it's cheaper? Is this collecting gone awry? Should a SNES port be worth more than the original NEO-GEO game? I understand that this is factory sealed, but come on... Any thoughts?

If my memory serves me correctly, brinn1 is a fucknut and should be mostly ignored.

Ahhh... Is a fucknut like an asswad? Or worse? Well, from the wording of the auction, it seems your right. I'm just floored by the price- considering he probably paid next to nothing for the game, since he said he "lucked" into it. And I know this may sound "anti-collector," but I hope he doesn't sell the thing.

I can't stand how this person emphasizes things in his description. Makes him sound like, well, a very bad person LOL

it is extremely hard to find especially boxed. I sold mine for $200 on ebay a year and 1/2 ago with a buy it now and it sold in 3 hours at $200

so $250 for a complete one is probably accurate, factory sealed I would say $400-$500

Holy jesus what a price

No way is it worth the $1500 brinn is saying.

I have to clarify, though. I think he means it is worth $1500 factory sealed- not cart only or complete.

It is a very expensive factory sealed game, though. Hard to find factory sealed and is one of the grails for a sealed SNES collector. Worth more than the opening bid, for sure.

TheDomesticInstitution
09-29-2007, 01:24 PM
Yeah... he did say factory sealed... but even for this game, factory sealed, $1500 is high, right? Also, is there a source (recent auction, sale, or price guide) he got that price from or is that the price he estimates it to be?

raregamergirl
09-29-2007, 01:47 PM
That is how much he paid for it, or he says he did. It is a really rare factory sealed game (one of the rarest for the SNES in existence) so I believe him that he paid that. Brinn used to pay top dollar for his games (he had a near complete sealed SNES collection).

TheDomesticInstitution

Oh, I see. I guess I didn't get that from the description (all he said was he wanted 27% of the value of the game, not 27% of what he paid for it). I thought it was how much he thought it was worth... I just thought he was a normal reseller trying to get an assload for it, when he paid very little. But if you know the guy personally, and he says that's what he paid for the game- then I guess I'll leave it at that. Although I find it hard to believe he's willing to take such a massive loss on a game he paid so much for.

I do not know Brinn personally, but we have emailed each other back and forth a few times. He is a very well known sealed collector who has been collecting games since I can remember on ebay and has always paid top dollar for his items as well.

Also, it is an auction, so he expects at LEAST that amount (it will go for more than the starting bid). Sometimes in collecting you buy something to complete a collection and probably overpay. You do not think about that at the time, but rather completing your collection. I think that is what happenned here for Brinn.

He certainly is not a reseller, though. You can check his sold items over the last 30 days to see the items he has sold. Virtually all are factory sealed games (most rare). He is selling off all of his collection currently.

The persons description makes him seem like a reeeeal big D'Bag. He's probably the last of his kind.

THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT: SOME of us D'Bags DO have Aero fighter, BUT these D'Bags are very unlikely to sell one on ebay. Most likely the D'Bags will keep the few left or sell privately.

Thats the one he bought from me a year or so ago. He paid well over $1000 for it at that time.

Lol, no, I am not brinn. Brinn is very well known here.

I won this but Brinn still has it listed in his store and is not responding to my emails even though I paid right after the auction ended..... really starting to bother me... I am not sure if he was not pleased with the final price or what....

Ughhh....Not cool.

TheDomesticInstitution

Especially with the amount you paid for the game... desired final price or not... you paid a big chunk of change for that. If you sell high dollar items, you can't treat the auction as if you sell loose 2 dollar carts. I hope all is resolved well.

You say that like its a bad thing, its called Capitalism. :)

So who draws the fine line between greed and capitalism? Should a line be drawn or is anything fair game? Of course we live in a society where everyone comes out with their own fragrance line, we charge 100 dollar for hamburgers, and sell designer water. Guess a 1500 game shouldn't be a big deal huh?

Brinn isn't a new character around here.

You were warned. If he turns out to be a jerk don't act suprized.

It did arrive today. Definitely not as nice as described or it looks in the pictures, but it is what it is. He sent it yesterday so it is amazing it arrived today. Can post actual pics of it if anyone is interested. Definitely not a pretty sealed copy. Not going to complain or anything, just a little depressing.

go ahead and show us, if it isn't too much trouble. You don't think he damaged it on purpose because it went for well under what he thought it was worth?

She said she "wouldnt complain or anything"... why fuel this controversy even more?

raregamergirl
10-04-2007, 05:41 PM
No, I do not think he purposely damaged it or anything like that. I just think it was the way he took the pictures etc.

I have the item so all is well, it is indeed best to let it go.

TheDomesticInstitution

Not trying to fuel anything... she said she was disappointed, and I was asking a valid question. She did offer to show a picture... and not asking her to complain. I apologize gamer girl... I'm not trying to get anyone worked up... and don't worry about showing the picture- I didn't realize I was being a prick.

People decide with their wallets. We always have a choice whether we will pay $100 for a hamburger or go to McDonalds and buy a cheap one.

You don't want to spend $1500 for a game? Thats your choice, nobody is forcing you to buy.

Never said I was complaining because I wanted it or anything... I just thought I had seen an outrageous price on a game... and thought it was worth sharing... a lot of people here complain about high game prices on ebay and in game stores, I was pointing out an extreme. I understand how capitalism works, and I realize I don't have to buy overpriced things- thanks for the lesson. And if you read my first post, it was more of an inquisition of why it was so much... Make sure you drop by all the other threads pointing (or complaining about) out high pricing and let them know about this capitalism thing too... I don't want to be the only enlightened one.

I can imagine some of the comments his customers must have had when they walk into his store and see a SNES game priced at $1500. Considering most people have no idea what this is worth, I am sure he got some "good" comments.

To quixmaster- how much did you sell it to him for? I noticed that auction when he had it up some time ago. Went high. Somewhere close to $275 or so if I remember correctly. I do not know much about playstation variants, but that seemed like a good bit for a PS1 variant.

Do a search on Space Hulk long Box here at DP and you will learn all about it. That is the only known long box to exist. most think it is a promo box, but I myself have my doubts. If I had known it was back up I would have bought it back. I sold it not knowing anything about it and nether did anyone else... except for brinn (or so it seemed). I think it went for something around $23 when i sold it to him about three years ago or so.
