I couldn't resist--I couldn't sit idle for two more months waiting for them to release the GB Player here, so I went ahead and imported. Only $69 shipping included (so only $15 more than the domestic will be) And I like it. It works with the Freeloader, so there's no modding necessary. You don't even need a memory card (well--I can't read Japanese so I'm not 100% sure)

I might start actually playing my GB games more that I can see them and not hunch over then have to go to the chiropractor a week later. I was a bit worried, because I put in Super Monkey Ball Jr. first and the sound was REALLY nasty, but I kinda remembered it being that way when I was using it on the GBA. Sure enough, I put in a few more games and had no nasty sound problems. And well, it looks like a SNES, so no problems there. I just wish I was in front of a TV bigger than 13" right now....

The have nicer "skins" for the background around the playing area, much nicer than was shown with the Super GB. Plus there's an option to hot-swap the games, so you don't have to constantly power down the system, and repeat the boot up process with another game.

I guess the freeloader is only leeded to use the GB Player boot disc and it has nothing to do with playing GB games itself?

Oh yeah any luck using Kirby Tilt n Tumble game with that? LOL It doesn't work with GBA-SP.

Thanks for the preview, Adrienne! I hope you'll bring it along with you to our next gamer gathering :)

I was *this close* to ordering one from Lik-Sang, but it's actually something I can wait for. Though I do have that Flash Linker.... and I'll probably change my mind after seeing it in action. But sounds really cool and I'm looking forward to the US release in June.
