CLOSED, I have another thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=118976) since this one seems to be stuck in the twilight zone.

First off, I might be wondering why you can't even SEE the thing, unless you show up ready to buy....

If it's a standard cabaret cabinet (i.e. Midway-style), you should have no problem fitting it in. Cabinet uses a 13" monitor, I don't have measurements off the top of my head, but it's a rather small footprint.

Also, cabarets of anything are pretty hard to come by, so if it's clean and reasonably priced, I'd say grab it.

But, as I said already, you can't even look till you buy??

the seller won't let me see it unless I'm going to buy it right then and there.

Something smells fishy. Why not send you a photo? I'd likely tell the seller to kiss off...unless it was a great deal that is.

...as for dimensions...I am not sure what cabaret this klax comes in, but the newer Midway cabarets are Height: 61'', Width: 20'', Depth: 33"...

I've been sent a picture of it and it looks fine, just needs the usual cleaning. However he's told me he doesn't have the key for the back panel although the machine is working fine - so who knows what the hell it looks like inside. As with quite a few people that sell arcade cabinets that don't do it professionally or semi-professionally, he doesn't want people coming over to his house and looking the machines over unless you're going to buy. (which I understand, no one likes to screw around with a bunch of looky-loos)

I thought all Klax cabinets used a 19" monitor regardless of their type. I've seen the cabaret version just once before and the display was larger than 13" if I remember correctly. The depth is really the measurement I'm concerned about as the only places I have room for it would require some good clearance around the front of the machine. And of course a JAMMA cabaret with a horizontal monitor is a thing of beauty. I don't think it's 33" deep because my Pole Position cabinet is 35" deep and I remember the Atari cabarets being nowhere near as deep as them.

Really to me it sounds like this guy is just busy and wanting to get rid of some cabs in his home. That's fine by me, I know to tread lightly until I'm ready to get the cabinet - it was the same way with my other one. I really just need the depth before I continue to pursue this machine.
