Man, this game fucking rocks. Honestly, I thought the main game in the first Monkey Ball was pretty dull. But Monkey Ball 2 is simply incredible... I haven't even tried any of the mini-games, because the story mode is that good. It will kick your ass and you will keep coming back for more. Damn near every puzzle has a different flavor to it, and the varity of that alone will keep you playing it until you've beaten it. The sad thing is your palms will start sweating so much in the later levels that you'll end up only playing in short intervals. Get this game NOW! $30 at EBworld.com new. It's the twitch-inducing game of the new generation.

I can't recommend this game enough. One of the Sega exclusives that makes the system it's on stand out. THE multiplayer game for the system.

A truly great game... agreed. The multiplayer games are fun as well.

I think what I like best about the Monkey Ball series is that it reminds me of old school games. A dead simple main game that has that "play it for 2 minutes or 2 hours" thing going for it.
In my house nothing tops the original Monkey Golf though as far as mini games go. I've got 4 or 5 buddies who ask for it (and nothing else) every time they come over.

The game is sweet, but I like the first one better. It is just that in the second game some of the levels are so hard if you win it is because of luck. >:(

I absolutely agree with Six Switch here; the difficulty of SMB2's one-player mode is tuned WAY too high. Monkey Target 2, however, is one of the ass-kickin'est multiplayer experiences ever.

I'll third the suggestion that too many of the levels rely on luck in #2, but it is still a very very good game.
And I hated the switches...completely pointless.
It seems like they were looking for a gimmick...I hope switches are gone for #3

I also agree that single player mode in the original was much better as the levels didn't rely on luck nearly as much. There's no way in hell I'm going to get through Anthropod, and that pretty much turns me off from the game.

Believe you me I felt like I really accomplished something after finishing that suckah! Luck or no, it's an amazing game. Can't wait for number 3! Bring it on - and yes just drop the damn story E-E-Poo.

@ David...Anthropod is the main level I am thinking of as well.
Once I was running through the Advanced level challenge. I had made it through the first 29 boards without losing 1 life!! I had 33 monkeys in storage...I used them all on Arthropod. >:(
Now I can get through it in 2 or 3 tries on average, but it still feels more like luck than skill.
I need to make a run at the expert levels again, I haven't seen the bonus levels after that run yet. I should have an easier time with it...I have 74 monkeys!!!!
